I must say that this book really shows what you can do with historic info. Good photos and written info, there's always something there that is news. "Well I did n't know that" sort of thing. I 'm glad that I purchased the book. Highly recommended for of course guitar aficionados

Walter Carter is the BOMB!

I bought this because I want to buy a Gibson acoustic guitar. I was interested in the history of the brand, but found out information from this book that I hadn't expected. Some of the instruments they made are simply amazing, if sadly no longer available. All of the articles are suberbly written and the photographs are of the highest quality. Thoroughly recommended to anyone interested in musical instruments and their history.

Die Firma Gibson existiert schon seit 1881. In dem Buch wird die komplette Geschichte der Firma von den Anfängen als Werkstatt für Saiteninstrumente (Akustikgitarren - Mandolinen - Geigen) über die Erfindung der Bluegrassmandoline und Archtopgitarre, bis hin zu den elektrischen Instrumenten und der Gitarrenikone "Les Paul Standard" anschaulich gezeigt. Leider gibt es das Buch nur in Englisch, d.h. es sind gute bis sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse erforderlich um in den vollen Genuss zu kommen. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert !!
