This 100% raffia hat is hand made on the Island of Madagascar where the raffia palm tree grows. The hat has a double layer of raffia which is finely woven to block the sunlight. The brim is flexible, enabling it to take many different shapes. Because of its flexible nature, the hat can be packed into a suitcase for travel without damage from bending. The brim comes in a choice of two sizes: 5 inches or 7 inches. We contact you for your exact head size before shipping.

simply awesome
As pictured/described. Hat quality and design is just awesome for fashion and function. Love the overall look and colors --- quite elegant yet made of cool raffia to keep the sun away in hotter climates/weather. I would guess the picture shown is the 7", I went with 6" so the brim is not so long/deep. Great customer service --- seller contacts you to confirm head measurements to ensure fit but inside band also has drawstring to tighten a bit to keep on head comfortably.

wonderful craftsmanship
Well made and very attractive. Don't make the mistake I did and wear it for cutting down branches in the yard. Mine has gotten kind of torn up, but it's very lightweight and bends however you need it to. I will be ordering another and also one as a gift. I'm very satisfied with it.

I wore this hat to an outdoor graduation. Very good sun protection, and I received many compliments. I am very happy with this purchase. The hat is light and very easy to manipulate, changing shape and angle.

Just as pictured
This is an outstanding hat. I have the 7" brim so it gives great sun protection. They called the day after I placed my order to double check the sizing. It fits perfectly. Because the raffia is pliable, the brim can be "folded" into different shapes - front up and back down, front and back down, etc. I bought a second hat because I liked the first one so much. Have had the hat for about a year and it does not show any signs of wear.
