HITO Atomic Radio Controlled Travel Alarm Clock w/Date, Temperature Humidity, Week, Alarm Status, Backlight - Battery Operated w/Solar Panel

I have had the clock for some time now and I have to say I think it a good piece of kit. Well-made and has a good weight to it ( although not too heavy). The display is big and clear and easy to read. The back lit display is good and just bright enough to see the display when the button is depressed but not too bright. All in all I would give it 10 out of 10 , a good little alarm clock well fit for its purpose. *******UPDATE ***** 08/11/2020***** Well the clock is still going strong and I haven’t had any issues at all since I purchased it. I think in all the time I have had it I have only changed batteries twice. Time keeping is still excellent ( it’s radio controlled so it better be) , all in all it was well worth the price. ********. UPDATE 16/10/23 *********** Yes it's still working and I rarely have to change the batteries, it's worked for years with no issues, which just goes to show how well it's made. ********** UPDATE 20/01/2026 ********** You have guessed it, the clock is still working and working well. I have not changed the batteries since the last update. It still keeps good time showing that the radio controlled clock works well. One of the rare items that has five stars and now you know why.

Originally bought this as a travel clock but it is a bit big for that so as my alarm clock was on it's last legs I started using this and am so pleased with it. Being radio controlled it sets itself so no fiddling about setting it. The numbers on the dial etc are big which I like, the backlight is a soothing orange instead of usual green. It has day, date, temperature and humidity readout on front of clock under the time. The alarm itself is a crescendo alarm and it does also have a snooze button on top which is very handy as alarm shut off button is at the back of the clock with all the other settings. It's also a very sturdy clock so I can't see it breaking easy. All in all this is a very good buy.

I wanted a simple, accurate, digital clock that had an alarm setting, a separate snooze setting and I wanted the alarm function to remain set until I turned it off (that did not need to be reset on a daily basis) and apparently the batteries last a long time is a bonus. It is easy to use, has a nice weight, good night light and is compact. I feel this is good value for money and certainly fulfils all the requirements that I want from a clock. The only reason I did not give the clock 5 stars is that the time did not alter to GMT automatically, but the clock is sufficiently new so maybe I am doing something wrong

Been looking for a new alarm clock for a while now since my Lumi Bodyclock gave up the ghost. I wanted something that was completely dark at night until you touched a button to put the back-light on. This fits the bill perfectly. It's solidly built with a quality feel about it too. I wouldn't say its the most attractive clock I've ever had. The copper coloured solar strips on the front don't add must aesthetically but I'm sure they help preserve the battery life. I wasn't sure about the orange/amber back-light but it's quite nice in use. The radio clock function seems to work well. I have another atomic/radio watch and the two are perfectly synched so either they're both wrong by the same degree or they're both spot on. The alarm starts quite gently then gets more urgent (not in a bad way) the longer it goes on. I've never let it go for more than about 10 seconds so I have no idea how long it will run for. The only thing that I think you need to consider is the viewing angle of the screen. It's crystal clear both lit and unlit when viewed straight on or from above looking down on it from an angle. Looking up it's no so good. So for clarity, if your bed is level with you bedside table or slightly above, great. If your bed is lower that the level of the table it's not quite so clear. That said, you can still see what the time is and I guess this is an issue with all LED clocks. All in all I'm very happy with it.

Not easy to set time, date and alarm. Having flush buttons on the back means you have to keep turning it backwards and forwards to see what you're doing. You have to press alarm on/off button once to set and again to set snooze, each time turning the clock back and fro to see the very, very small icons on the display to check it's set correctly. Temperature scale is set by country, so no facility to change from Fahrenheit to Centigrade. Could be a great clock, but much too complicated and certainly not easy to use. Had to reset it with a paper clip a couple of times as alarm didn't go off (when set correctly) making me very late for appointments.

This is a nice clock - feels well made, it was easy to set up and it picked up the remote signal very quickly. The orange backlight is pleasant, it lasts for a few seconds after you press the button. I haven't bothered with the alarm as I'm only using this on my work desk. The temperature seems accurate after comparing it to my weather station as well. Not sure how effective the solar panel will be, it seems oddly placed on the front, but the clock itself is hardly going to eat batteries so I've kept the review at five stars. I'll update this if I have any issues with longevity etc.

Well designed, easy to read, accurate and solidly made. What more could you ask for? To the reviewers that suggest it is difficult to set alarm etc. I would only say that 5 mins with the manual before attempting anything saved me a lot of trial-and-error setting, especially the part which instructs to reset the clock with pin/paper clip at the very start. Once you have set/disabled it a couple of times it's simple... it must be if I can do it :-) Overall, delighted with this purchase and would definitely recommend.
