Excellent way to boil water quickly and safely. Sturdy and easy to use.
After ruining a previous unit by not following the instructions (different model and manufacturer), it was great to get this little heater with a switch on it to help me remember to turn the device off as soon as the water had boiled, before removing it.This thing actually works faster than the previous one I had and for the same price!I use this to boil water at hotels for oatmeal and coffee, as I don't trust the cleanliness of most hotel coffee makers. It clips easily onto the side of a paper cup, and I simply set it on a granite countertop afterwards. If you don't have a safe surface, use a 2nd cup and clip it inside the cup til it cools. It cools surprisingly quickly and then I stick it in a pouch to store it. I've used it for 6 months now with no problems.Easy, effective, and practical. Highly recommended!(Remember this is ONLY for heating water. Do not use it for soups or any other liquids!!! And follow the instructions carefully to ensure your device will last a long time.)

Works well and heats water fast on 240v
This immersion heater worked very well on a recent trip to Tunisia. Water heats fast on 240v - just be sure the heater is fully immersed before you turn it on. The heater will also cool relatively fast - just be sure to let it start cooling down while fully immersed in water. Comes with an on/off switch, American-style plug and European-style add on adapter and minimal, but adequate instructions. Does not come with a carry bag, but will fit in an airline amenity kit-style size bag or small luggage cube bag.

Perfect for heating up bottled water for my Neti-Pot
At home I use a microwave to heat up the water before Neti-Potting. Not all hotel rooms have a microwave and this little heater does the job perfectly. I pour the water (bottled of course!) into the Neti-Pot and stir it with the heater turned on until the water is warm enough, usually about twenty seconds. The heating coil is very hot of course, so I run it under cold tap water before setting it down anywhere or touching it. My unit came with an on-and-off switch which was a surprise (not quite as pictured) but it is a very nice little device and I like it.

Water Only
The description I read said you can use this for items other than water. Milk, soup etc... Don’t believe it. In less than a minute it burns milk and burn the coil’s. Cleaning was a nightmare. This may be good for water but nothing else, The one star is for the on and off switch. So if you’re going to boil water while traveling and that’s all you need it for go for it ... for me, it’s going back

Works well
Works well for boiling 14oz cup of water at work. Takes about 10 min with cold 55F water from a water cooler. The only thing i don't like about it is that it doesn't look to be water proofed at the top whete the cord enters. It could be potted on the inside, I'm not sure, but from just looking at it, it doesn't seem like there is any protection if it falls into the water and gets fully submersed.

very hot fast on 220 Volts - works great
works super great, super fast, gets dangerous hot fast on 240 V no waiting.with 115 Volts, it heats slower. Loved it in France and USA. Good to tape adapter on to cord so it does not get loose during travel. Not for children or clumsy people, easy to get burned if not paying attention.

Low quality- see pictures, heats fast
These pictures were taken after 10 uses. Low quality of metal and plastic. The good thing is that it heats very fast

Super fast - do not leave unattended!
I bought this for a business trip - I put it in a ceramic mug of cold water and then went to check email. Of course, I was distracted and when I returned (obviously much later!) the mug had boiled dry and there was gray dust in the bottom, so I decided to discard it. Clearly my fault. Fantastic product but as they and I suggest, stand there and watch it heat. I'm guessing it takes a minute or less. It looks like the size of the heating element in a much larger electric tea kettle, heck, it's 1300 watts - that's the size of many hair dryers! Would recommend it despite my foolishness.
