I purchased this for (surprise) opening beer bottles, and it is mounted next to the beer fridge on a wooden cabinet. The finish of the wood plate is top notch. The staining and finish of the wood plate could not be any more beautiful. The copper color of the opener is really attractive as well.I did experience an issue with the metal bottle opener getting the beer bottle open. It took several tries to get the bottle top positioned just right so I could pry it off, which I have never had problems with this style opener before. I surmised that the mouth of the opener was a bit too shallow. I contacted the seller with my concern and they were very responsive to rectify the issue and make me happy. They said that they had the same complaint before and sent me a different opener with a wider mouth. That solved the problem and it's been working well ever since. I give the seller a 5+ star review for addressing my issue to make me a happy customer, so I heartily recommend their product and customer service experience!Though I haven't experienced any mounting instability, this wooden plate has only 2 mounting screw holes at the top of the plate. In my consummate quest to ensure that all items are bolted down excessively, I recommended to the seller that they put a 2nd pair of screw holes at the bottom of the plate as well to ensure that the bottom does not lift away. They said it was a good idea and they would look into doing it.Overall, I am VERY pleased with the plate and opener, and I have enjoyed my experience with this seller. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a really nice bottle opener to mount in a visible location.

I bought this as an 8th anniversary gift for my husband. Unfortunately, by the time I found it I thought I might not have time to customize so opted for the pretty inlaid version. I received this via Amazon Prime and it was a lovely product but it was slightly damaged on a couple corners despite extensive packaging so I returned it. I received a follow up email from WoodEffex asking about my purchase experience. Iris at WoodEffex was amazing--note that these are made in her home shop and she takes great pride in making a great product. I ended up going to the WoodEffex Etsy store and purchasing a customized opener that ships directly from the shop instead of the standard version that ships from stock stored by Amazon. If you order a customized one via Amazon these also ship directly from WoodEffex. Excellent and super speedy customer service from WoodEffex--both through Amazon marketplace emails and through Etsy. Once we began communicating, Iris provided some design ideas and was very responsive (within minutes of each email I sent) with design proofs and a slight modification that I requested to my initial design. Already planning my next custom design!!

I bought this as a gift for my husband who really loved the item. I initially wanted it engraved but misread the information on the link and did not do so. WoodEffex was really helpful in clearing that misunderstanding up for me and offered to engrave the bottle opener I ordered for free. However, once I received the product I was satisfied with how it came out. It is made of solid heavy wood with a great finish to it. The magnet is strong enough to hold the opener in place on a fridge. It also comes with little screws in case you want to mount it on the wall. There a magnet that catches all the beer caps on the wood so they never hit the ground which is awesome. Just beware, if you would like it customized make sure you order from WoodEffex directly because they do send pre-made ones to Amazon for fast shipping. The product is great and the costumer service from WoodEffex is spectacular as well. Five Stars all around!

Excellent customer service. I had a email from the seller shortly after purchasing discussing the engraving options. I provided the information I was wanting engraved and the seller returned 3 different example engravings, what they looked like. I made a selection and the product was engraved overnight and shipped out the next day. The seller provided pictures of the finished product before mailing.One detraction from the otherwise excellent fit and finish, were the screws used to mount the actual metal opener to the wood. It was attached with black, almost drywall looking screws, which looked out of place against the cool weathered finish on the opener metal. I ordered the weathered finished on walnut wood. The engraving was a neat personal touch, it will make a awesome wedding gift. I would definitely order as a gift again as-is but the screws are a place for improvement.

I received the bottle opener yesterday and I was so excited to see the final product. My boyfriend is going to LOVE it! It's beautiful and solid and he was just saying he needed to get a bottle opener last night. I can't wait to give the gift and I definitely recommend this product for quality, shipping was very fast, packaged well, and the customer service is fantastic! I didn't read ahead before purchasing and did not put my design information in the details. They do have noted that if you miss that part, just email them directly after with the information. Gorgeous piece! But would be a five star product if they had used epoxy resin or something thicker as a coating. We saw it could hold up to 60 caps so when we got it we let 3 build up. First three uses. The third cap snapped around and scratched the wood. So we remove after each opening (or two in if we open two bottles at a time) The pic is from maybe 20 uses and you can see how scratched it is getting. Too bad, because it’s beautiful and I wanted to buy another one for our bar/entertainment room and one for the patio by the pool. Think I’ll hold off unless I can get my husband to resin coat it or something.

Works great. The magnet to mount it to the fridge is strong enough to apply the leverage you need to pop a cap, it can slide on you a bit if you go at it in a strange angle though. And the other magnet for catching the caps is great as well, it catches and holds easily over a couple dozen.
