Really good barley, chewy and flavorful
Took me a time or two to get the recipe right for my instant pot: 1 cup of this hulled barley, 1.5 cups water, a little salt, a little oil, pressure cook on high for 30 minutes and then quick release.Came out just the right amount of chewy and with excellent flavor. I've never eaten barley before but got this because I'm reading that hulled barley is one of the very best things you can eat, health=wise and it can be mixed with so many other foods like soup and spegetti sauce. Additionally, buying this supports a small farm! What's not to like? High recommended

Hulled Barley - Tastes better than any local store brand of barley
I like pearl barley and decided to try the hulled variety. I am happy that I did. I made up a pot of black-eye peas, ham, and this hulled barley for New Years Day. No complaints and lots of compliments. I did cook the barley separate until almost done and added it into the ham and beans when they were about 30 minutes from being done. Great texture and a nutty flavor. I've never had barley this good. The use by date on my 5lb package is 16 months into the future. No loose hulls in the bag that I could see. Cooking time on low heat was about 45 minutes until it was very slightly chewy. It softened a little more and absorbed some good flavor after being put in with the ham and beans on low for about another 30 minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fresh cooked barley.Edit 1-18-20 added:Excellent whole grain food with a great taste. This is replacing whole grain rice on my grocery list. I have made many dishes this barley and have enjoyed them all. I just ordered another 5 pound bag today. As an extra good treat consider adding some wild rice to this, yummy, they both cook about the same way. :)

Very good for the system
We soak 3 T of grain in a glass of water every night and strain and drink the barley water in the am for good health - then we use the soaked grains in cooking our Quaker Oats for breakfast- sustainable eating.

100% pleased with Be Still Farms Hull-less Barley!
This is my first order for Be Still Farms hull-less barley and I couldn’t be more pleased or impressed with the quality, integrity and value. I love that it’s organic and affordably priced on Amazon. Hull-less barley is not available in markets in my area, yet it’s purported to be the least processed of the barleys, and highly nutritious. My favorite way of enjoying barley is in homemade soup with vegetables and beans. I just toss everything in the pot (pre-soaking barley not necessary), bring it to a boil and simmer for a few hours. The result is a perfect blend of flavor with the chewy goodness of barley in every bite. The soup in the photo also contains a small amount of pearl barley for variation. I only use one cup of hull-less barley each time I make soup, so my five-pound bag will last awhile. If you’re looking for hull-less barley, I doubt that barley gets better than this.
