Dog Backpack Saddle Bag Travel Packs for Hiking Walking Camping

I love this pack! We have a 10 month old rescue pup (lab Shepard mix, approx 50 lbs) and bought a medium. It could be a little tighter in the front, but fits great and doesn’t sag or fall off. It’s very secure and holds everything she needs! She carries her own bowl, water bottles, treats, poop bags and bug spray! It’s secure enough that she can bolt up and down the sides of the trails with ease and even with her running through heavy brush, it held up well with me tears. It also got soaking wet in the rain and dried perfectly within a few hours. I’m super happy with this, and Tara loves it, too! I think it makes her feel like she has purpose, and also gives her a better work out when we do go hiking. Tired pup = happy pup!

I'd been looking for a couple of months for a backpack to take when we go hiking and I'm glad I finally decided to go with this one. We haven't taken it out hiking yet (just been testing it out at home and on a couple of regular walks) but so far I'm happy with my choice. It feels pretty sturdy, the pockets are a good size and fit his collapsible bowl, food/snacks, baggies, his ball, small first aid kit... Probably more than I'd end up actually putting in there. There's even a thin layer of cushioning where the pockets lay and a bit on the top. I didn't have a hard time putting it and my dog can still move comfortably and it didn't move around too much thanks to the two horizontal straps. For reference, my Shep/collie mix Rocco is 32 lbs and I bought him a size medium. A couple of the straps are almost tightened all the way so I may have been able to get away with the small but we're going to stick with this one. 4 stars only bc I haven't taken it on a full hike yet!

We have not put this through an extensive walking trial, but our guy loves it. The satisfaction of having that "job" is what really makes this backpack great. For light travels, we love it just as much as him to carry his bags, water, our keys, and really anything else we need/want, without weighing him down. The key is to make sure you distribute the weight on both sides. I see a lot of feedback saying that it falls to one side or slips down. You do not want this super tight, but snug to their chest and torso. If at anytime something is heavier or lighter on one side, the backpack is going to favor the side of the weight. We have not noticed any rubbing or irritation on his skin. Overall, I think this is the best option for someone looking to not spend over the top, but still have a good functioning backpack for their pet. ***Disclaimer*** I would not suggest using this backpack if you are trying to leash train or you are needing to restrain your dog. While it does have multiple straps securing the backpack, it is not the most durable for that type of application.

Love this dog backpack and wish I would’ve purchased it sooner. I got my 48lb German shorthair the medium, and it’s almost too big on her but I think that was the best size for her. She is not bothered by it whatsoever, and would actually say she enjoys it. She’s not even bothered when one side is heavier than the other and the pack doesn’t sit right. She does not stand still, so it’s a little tough to get it on her, but it’s getting easier. The snaps are easy to snap, and the saddle bags fit a good amount of things- a bottled water in each side, and a few other little things. The zippers feel a little cheap, but so far after several hikes they’ve held up.

This is nice looking, high quality seeming doggie back pack. I brought a medium for our three month old cattle dog puppy. I did this knowing when she got bigger we would need to get a bigger one. But the medium is too small around her waist towards her back end. Everywhere else it fits great, but back there. We have adjusted the straps and it is just too tight back there. We will have to send it back due to not fitting. So I would say these run small because she weighs only 20 lbs and is still a pup.

Great beginner backpack. Fits my dog perfectly and he seems to be comfortable while wearing it. We don't go on major hikes but we did hike 14 miles up the mountains in Washington and it survived. However, it was raining the whole time and inside contents got wet so it is definitely not waterproof but still a great backpack. Hard to clean: I put it in the washer but the mud still did not come out all the way. That's okay though! We use it more for function than looks :)

The only reason it isn't a five star is because we haven't been out with it yet so i'm not 100% on the durability. However we went on a short walk and I am obsessed. I love the way it looks (I have the yellow and grey) There are two straps, a front chest strap and one that goes under the belly. When i say the bag is secure, i mean it. She can shake all she wants and it stays in place. It is also very light weight, but the bags are good sized and deep enough to fit most things reasonable enough for her to carry. I have a Red heeler, Yellow lab mix. Med build, just under 50lbs and I didnt have to adjust the med size, it fit her perfectly.

My dog has worn this running through brush in Arizona, Louisana, Utah, Florida. It's withstood some extreme use. I finally got one hole in it a year ago. I sewed it back up and it's still going.If you go backpacking, I can fit 4 cups of dog food in each saddle w/a bowl & bone in each saddle.The handle is super durable, I've had to pick her up with it multiple times.My dog has super fine hair and hasn't experienced any chaffing or raw spots like most harnesses give her.
