Trailblaze your trail days with the new Superior 5. It’s light, it’s fast, and it’s trail-running-ready with a MaxTrac outsole and a multi-directional lug pattern for traction on any terrain. The updated removeable StoneGuard uses less material and is lighter weight and the “burrito” style wrap-around tongue provides a locked-in feel. Lace up and take off with the Superior 5.

My first pair of trail runners.
This is the lightest pair of shoes I’ve ever bought. The traction is great and they dry fast. The first time I wore them it rained. My Darn tough socks were a perfect match for this shoe. Wore them for two days outdoors the whole time camping (not running or hiking as I was trying to break them in first) no foot issues and I really like the tow box and zero drop souls. My first time to have both in one shoe. I had a pair of Solomon trail runners but they were so narrow I never really liked them. This shoe is very comfortable and I think they will be great for backpacking.

Underrated by far!
Never even heard of this brand but something about the shoe just looked right... so I tried it.This shoe fits and feels 10X better than tons of others I've been trying on the last 3 months looking for a shoe that feels good. This has good traction and feels great. It is definitely underrated and worth a try. I will most likely be ordering another pair.

Excellent "feel"
This is my first purchase of this make of shoe, so I realized I might not get what I need/wanted with these shoes; however, I was pleasantly surprised, as the shoes fit my feet well (i.e., {"just right", not tight; my shoe size is 8.5 Medium (which I ordered) and found these to be true to size, with plenty of room in the toe-box). These shoes have a nice "bounce" feeling when you walk; I just turned 67 years old and don't run/jog regularly anymore (I mostly walk daily and regularly ride an e-scooter and e-bike, as well); however, if I did manage to do so without difficulty in the near future (e.g., this next summer, "when the living's easy"...lol) do half-lap run intervals on the nearby high school track, these would be the shoes I would wear while running and walking on the track.

I want to love this shoe more than I do
This shoe is exactly what it claims to be. A lightweight, minimalist trail running shoe and some great features, good tread and awesome support options. Where I come up short on loving it more is the fit. In retrospect, this is a shoe I would want to try on in person to get just the right fit. I normally wear a mens 8.5 and for running, you should typically go half a size larger. Initially the fit was more or less comfortable. But the longer you wear them, the more cramped your foot feels. Could be swelling, could be the minimalist support style, or it could be that I needed to go a full size larger. Overall, I've had more comfortable minimalist trail runners than this pair despite the aggressive look and great features this one has. I'd say I was mostly satisfied with the purchase.

Beautiful
Fits wide feet and is true to size, stretchy and will accommodate any foot swelling during long races. No need to go up a size when u purchase. Awesome value. Did a big bear spartan race and climbed right up those muddy mountains and trails no problem. Ran through streams and they dried fast. Super light weight and comfortable. Highly recommend for trail runs/obstacle course races

Beautiful, but too tight.
Very good looking shoe. Seems comfortable, but WAY too tight. For supposedly having a "wide" fit, they are extremely tight. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5, but trying the 9.5 in this shoe, I feel like I should have ordered a 10.5.Unfortunately the shipping was too slow and I can't wait for another pair. I had to return these because they are too tight, and don't have time to wait for another size.

Exactly what I was looking for
7 month update. April 2024These shoes are only worn for my disc golf rounds. Other than a tee shot on each hole they see all types of trails, woods, and fields. Basically what you would expect to see at your public park.I would guesstimate that I have maybe 15% life left in these shoes. The soles just do not hold up in comparison to most any other trail show I have ever owned. I honestly expected more out of these shoes considering the cost. The mesh area on the tops of the feet have pulled from various briars, nothing overly concerning, but did want to note they will snag/pull as they get caught on things. Lastly, as I use these for disc golf, the toe area for my right foot is wearing out faster than the left. This is coming from a slight toe drag for right hand forehand shots.Bottom line, I can't recommend the shoes at their retail cost as they really should hold up better.------------------------Bought Sept 2023, reviewed December 2023I love Altra shoes and I love disc golf. Finding a pair of shoes that keep my feet in zero drop and actually has decent traction has been hard. The tee pads with disc golf tend to eat up soles. So far so good with these.I do have a little concern that the toe area will peel due to some of the toe action the shoe sees during throws.Time will tell and I will update accordingly.

Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned
I had an older pair of dress shoes that featured a square-toe design that I finally had to get rid of, so I went searching for a nice pair of comfortable casual/sporting shoes for everyday wear that had the same type of wide toebox design. My search brought me to these Altra shoes and I haven't been disappointed. They are feather-light, and the wide toebox and flat heel design are everything I could've hoped. You don't realize how bad regular shoes are until you wear a pair of these.A note of caution though when ordering - order a size larger than what you normally wear. I originally ordered my regular size (12) but I had to return those in favor of a 13 and the 13's fit perfectly. I intend on purchasing another pair of Superior 5's of a different color.Great pair of shoes and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for walking comfort!

Buenos tenis, Superior 5

Great shoe
Scott all I could ask for in a trail runner. Good design, good construction.Quite breathable and quick to dry. Satisfactory grip on the tread. The heel of the foot is firmly secured in the shoe while the forefoot is free. The cushioning is neither too hard or too soft (both of which can cause discomfort). The shoe is comfortable for running and hiking woodland or alpine trails and city roads, while still preserving some ground-feel. I find standing in the shoes for long periods uncomfortable, though (which may come down to personal physiology).I'm most happy that the flexible toe guard present on the Lone Peak, which always digs into my toes when I climb or crouch, is absent from the Superior 5 on which a firmer, more structured toe guard preserves space for the toes.I use the shoes for hiking, wilderness backpacking, and travel/city walking besides running.

Unimaginably comfortable shoes
I’ve struggled my whole life with uncomfortable shoes because of width. Simply put, I have very wide feet not only the fore foot but also the mid foot. I also have boney metatarsal knuckles. This has resulted in some pinky toe malformation that causes severe blisters with just about any athletic shoe that I’ve tried. And this has really limited my attempts to get into running. These are the only shoes I’ve ever found that can accommodate my feet not only for day-to-day use, but for 15 to 20 km walks. No blisters, no hot foot, no issues. They are wide throughout the whole shoe and are made of flexi materials that do not impinge on my boney joints.I’m looking forward to adding running to my repertoire, and that will have been made possible because of these shoes. If you have white feet and have struggled with the so-called wide fit versions of other brand shoes, you really should pick a pair of these up and give them a try. They are relatively inexpensive. I’ve bought several years worth of them myself so that I don’t run out. Also, regarding the minimalist nature of these shoes, I find that they work a lot better for me than traditional shoes with drop and lots of cush but I am an avid cyclist that has been using Bont shoes for years and they are also zero drop. So keep in mind that they might take some getting used to.

Altra!
Ottime! Tutte le altra. Questa scarpa risulta un po avvolgente sul dorso alto del piede quasi a livello della caviglia. Comode, leggerissime, plugs in rilievo, ma della rigidità giusta per lo sterrato.

Large and confortable
If your main concern in shoes is tight Toe cap box, then this brand is the best solution for you as it comes with a largest toe vamp, wide enough so your toes are well spread inside. This is the top feature
