Scarlatti Child's Accordion - Green

My son wanted an accordion to be like his granddad and was thrilled with his Christmas present! It's not amazing quality but is fine for the amount I paid. He's a very happy boy..... all he needs now is to learn how to play it!!

Item was a replacement for an exact same item found to be faulty on arrival, at least 2 of the notes not sounding. A replacement was sent speedily and without question. The notes were still a little rough but since I was only intending to see if I would want to progress to an more expensive adult model I decided to keep it. Two months later and after gentle use (i.e. not used by a child, this is after all intended for children who would likely treat it with much less care) the screw attaching the shoulder straps to the top of the instrument has come out. On contacting Amazon to obtain a refund I find that I am outside the returns period! Purchasers should bear in mind that whilst this is a cheap and attractive little instrument the musicality out of the box is suspect and may not stand up to even light use. As a regular and generally very happy Amazon customer I am extremely disappointed at their policy as it affects me in this instance.

According to this accordion, simply by playing it relentlessly I will become a child prodigy, however at the age of 26 I feel this has somewhat missed the mark.....although, I am not sure whether the accordion has a time travel function, but I feel I would possibly have to learn the doctor who theme tune to do this....Anyway......a lot of the notes sound out of tune depending on which way you play them

Do not buy this accordion. The bellows leak air so badly it is possible to play a bass chord and a notes at the same time. Additionally bellows are too small for enjoyable playing. I would like a refund but can't find how to contact Amazon.

Small enough for little hands but a decent quality for price

This accordian is great my son plays it often and on the first day, he got it sounding nice.

This is definitely a toy and not a particularly good one at that. It's a beautiful looking toy but that's pretty much where it ends. My son expressed an interest in learning the accordion and I read all the reviews and thought this might be a good thing for him to start with to see if it's worth getting him lessons and then upgrading him to a proper child's instrument. The fact of the matter is that the bellows on this are very poorly made and therefore hard for a child to operate. This means all the effort and concentration is going into trying to get this to open and close smoothly (which it doesn't) and as a result the actual playing suffers. The sound is also just terrible. I wouldn't recommend this and it will be going into a pile of stuff to give away soon enough. A waste of money, sorry.

We returned it. It would be a great toy but we expected a mini musical instruments with better quality.
