This hand cut African mask is a signature design from the Bakota tribe. When first shown in Europe around 1915, this influenced modern sculpture and art. This particular Bakota mask is created using rose and blue colored mirrored acrylic. You'll notice hand woven wire decorating the neck piece. Art deco tapes are also used as part of the decoration. Each Bakota we create will be unique in using different exotic woods along with different colored acrylic. Each becomes an original piece. An astonishing design that will look wonderful anywhere in your home. We've included one in wood and one in mirrored acrylic to show you that each one is unique. Dimensions: 16 in. H X 12 in. W What the heck is colored mirrored acrylic? It's a mirror but it comes in many gorgeous colors. Just imagine a mirror but in any color you like. The difference between stained glass and colored mirrored acrylic is that mirrored acrylic is meant to decorate your walls not just your windows as stained glass designs do. Oh, and by the way, if you'd prefer a design for your window, we also work with translucent colored acrylic. Translucent allows the light to come through whereas the mirror reflects the color of that mirrored acrylic. When you look at the pictures of our designs, you'll notice a reflection, it may even be us taking the picture of the design. This will give you an idea of the reflective qualities of these mirrored acrylics. Simply beautiful......trust us, you'll love these.......you've never seen anything like this!
