Great crochet kit. I love these little elephants. Repetitive nature of making three elephants, two of the same size, makes a great way for beginners to solidify their skills and visualize the progression they are making in technique. This kit has several of the qualities I look for- true safety eyes that come with backs, no use of hot glue, everything needed to complete is included.

I wasn't able to complete the project. The product itself was great and the instructions were ok I just couldn't get the hang of it.

i feel like its a little hard but i may just need to try harder. it comes with the whole set and video instructions so thats nice..

I have zero crocheting experience, but I had a blast making this with my daughter. Ironically enough, she has crocheted in the past, so we run the gamut on skill-level going into the project.This kit has everything you would need and offers two options for instructions. In addition to traditional written instructions, there is also a link for a youtube video. Surprisingly, I found the latter to be more helpful, as I appreciated seeing the physical movements of the instructor. It was a bit tricky at first, but once I got going it became much easier.This was a fun family activity that we’re going to repeat in the future. I found the process very relaxing, so I’ll probably be doing some on my own as well. It’s a very meditative process.My star ratings explained:5 stars = Exceptional. This kit came with beginner yarn, which in my opinion really helpful for someone who never crochet before, because the yarn does split, it’s thicker, so it’s easier to follow along and easier to count stitches. It’s not as soft as regular yarn, but as a beginner, I would recommend starting with any project that has beginner yarn. This elephants kit includes everything you need plus extra. Love the print on the plastic eyes, it’s cute. The instructions and video are clear and easy to follow especially if you had completed a few projects before. It can be a little challenging for younger kids though. Love the design, it’s exactly what I like.

Our crafty teen has been trying to learn crochet, but it's not something we know how to do. This little kit does indeed have everything they need to complete the craft - tools, materials, instructions and link to instructional videos. The printed directions are simply the written pattern. The stitches are beginner friendly, but a real beginner will need to access those QR videos to watch and re-watch while learning the stitches and building the stuffies.I'd only recommend this for younger kids IF they had an experienced crocheter in their life to do it with. A teen or young adult would be a better fit, someone that can navigate accessing the videos and breaking down the instructions. But it would only work if that person was a self starter that REALLY wanted to learn, because it's going to take a little work and effort.The kit is packaged to be perfectly giftable, but you need to know the person you're giving it to because it may be frustrating for someone just starting out.
