Tak3n 1s qu1t3 s1mply th3 m0st un3ccesary s3qu3l t0 3v3r 3xist. You thought the second film in this series was inferior to the original. Phwoar! Wait until you check this out! The daughter, father and mother had all been taken. Who's next? The family car? The pet goldfish? The last slice of bread in the kitchen? Nope. Bryan Mills' innocence. Not nearly as exciting as the slice of bread, right? Well, that's the general feeling this film exudes. That, and the consistent explosive wave of stupidity that looms over this family. Urgh. Mummy Mills comes over Daddy Mills' place for bagels but winds up dead (lucky Janssen...), to which the latter is framed for murder. He must find out who actually committed the crime before the police take him down. I don't know what's more sad.The fact that this series actually has a third instalment, or the fact that they never got to eat those fresh warm bagels. Aside from the odd scene that strangely captivated me with its butchered script, particularly between Bryan and Kim, there's nothing to recommend here. Megaton is back in mega fashion to ensure that the infrequent action sequences and overall direction have more jump cuts than a skipping rope competition. Neeson climbing over that infamous fence had approximately twelve jump cuts in three seconds. That's just insane! My eyes were staring blankly at the screen for the most part.Cars explode upon touch. No one can drive. And gosh darn it, Whitaker's character (with his elastic band fetish) devoured fresh bagels without Neeson. Rude! Fight scenes were cumbersome. The passage of time wasnseemingly lost in this story, I mean at one point we're on an idyllic beach for some obligatory waterboarding. Oh, and the mandatory phone call! This time, Bryan telling his daughter that her mum is dead. On the frickin' phone! C'mon. That is not the Bryan Mills from the first Taken who massaged his daughter's feelings. This is an enraged, insensitive and hungry Mills. Hungry for some bagels! It finalises in a shootout with a Russian in his unflattering pants, and for the life of me I have no idea why. This cash grab of a sequel marks an almighty low point in Neeson's filmography. No fault of his own though, as he is as watchable as ever (despite the carefree performance). But damn, this film just does not need to exist. Heck, its predecessor didn't either! Predictable, pointless and painfully nauseating. Atleast it isn't damaging European tourism this time. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have some bagels and forget about this film once again...

Awesome!
purchased and watched again andd again as its that type of film..If u enjoy action and being kept on the edge of your chair this may be the esequ for you..I would say it is the bed of the three but part one oa a classic and thats whetmmat makes u want to see parts one and two..pure full on action with more than one twist..if u r clever u will work out some but not all..In a sence it is a bit and yet it is not dissapointing and there is quite a story line instead of scene after scene of excitement..A family could watch this film however for vwry young children there is a lot of violence so parents can of course decide for themselves..It is not free but well worth every penny! Well worth it!

Framed
This was an OK edging on a Good movie. For me, who is admittedly a biased Liam Neeson fan, the movie was on the right side of good to be rounded up to four stars. The movie is enjoyable, more tense moments and car chases than main hand to hand action. As with all thing Neeson is getting a bit older, certain scenes stunts are sped up to try and cover this up unfortunately if just makes it more oblivious. The good thing not too many of the stunts are too physically demanding. Bryan (Neeson) manages to do his stuff by his smarts, experience, knowing exactly how the handle any situation and his toughness. I like Neeson portrayal of Bryan he is the quite guy sitting in the corner how know he can kick the @$$ of any of the loudmouths around him. This movie is supposed to be more of a mystery movie but problem is that there it is pretty obvious from the start what happened. This move is more of a frame joy then any abduction but it makes a decent movie. I think the main difference in this movie to the others is that Bryan has to hold back a lot as he does not want to permanently injure the police officers trying to bring him in while he is trying to clear his name and protect his family. Good addition to the series but not a must see, slightly better than the second movie in fact you can probably forget everything about the second movie and watch the first and this one.

Mostly enjoyable, but very patchy
Mostly enjoyable, but very patchy - I think the editing could have been a lot better as much of the film looked a bit cobbled together... But Liam Neeson is always very watchable and reprises his role as aging action hero very well. I also liked Forest Whitaker's cop character - very well played. Action sequences were pretty good - look out for the scene where Neeson backs his stolen cop car down a lift shaft... The plot was too predictable for me, though - I'm not going to spoil it for anyone by giving any more detail, but you may be able spot the real "baddie" pretty early on in the film! The villains were ok, but not especially menacing - they could have been a lot more intimidating, I think - and I watched the extended cut, so that presumably had more violence than the theatrical version. I did use the ffwd button a few times, too, as some of the scenes just dragged quite painfully, and this ties in with my impression that the film could have been better edited (or maybe the theatrical version is better than the extended cut - I didn't like the film enough to watch both and make a comparison).Overall, it's a good piece of entertainment, but I don't think it eclipses the first film in the series - probably better than Taken 2, though.

It was ok, not the best in the series
Taken 3 wasn't the best one of the film franchise. It was ok, and Liam Neeson once again provided enough action and thrill but I think the storyline wasn't very good, I liked the fact it still featured his relationship with his daughter, and his friends helped him once again. Dougray Scott provided a good performance I only wish he had played Stewart in the first film as well, he is an incredible Scottish actor. Although in this film no one was actually Taken. The first film was a 5 star and the second was a four star, so I credit this one a third.
