A Breathtaking Indulgence Into Mystical Islam
The sweetness of the spiritual intoxication that caressed me as I read, "The Unveiling of Love: Sufism and the Remembrance of God" has been unforgettable. The late Sheik Muzaffer Ozak, who was the renowned spiritual leader of The Halveti-Jerrahi Order of sufi dervishes (mystic followers of Islam) in Istanbul, Turkey wrote the "Unveiling of Love: Sufism and the Remembrance of God" in a way that transforms and interprets the mystical understanding of Islam into an exciting and refreshing indulgence for beginners and veterans of mystical studies. The poetic and comfortable writing style of Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak is vividly elucidated in the plethora of Koranic stories he consistently bathes in eye opening interpretations that leave the reader helplessly salivating for more and more of this spiritual rendezvous. No matter what scriptural based belief system one approaches this book from there will be a bevy of enlightenment gained that will usher in greater understanding of the oneness of truth. Love leaves the realm of the mundane and is transported into a tangible and delicious experience of literary ambrosia compliments of Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak. The practice of remembrance of GOD is reverently and tastefully encouraged without offending the reader. A zeal for the remembrance of GOD will be most likely be catalyzed in the reader because of the transcendent softening of the ego this book carves into the heart with rhythmic and soulful cadences."The Unveiling of Love: Sufism and the Remembrance of God" is a book of classic dimensions that will embolden your spiritual journey with a surety born of engaging in the guidance of a true sufi master, which Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak is. I say, "Is," because the words of this monumental book transmit a beautiful, living and powerful spiritual energy. May GOD be pleased with Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak and everyone who reads and uses the messages of this book for the uplifting of all sentient beings. Sincerely, Shadeed R. Ahmad (7-21-10)

so sad
i red this book has very nice storys but in the chapter of the spiritual guide , it says even when u r dead the spititual guide will be with u to give u answer to munkar and nakir question, i was like what the hellllllll this is impossible , i whole books talks about cleansing urself and find the way which is correct but then it says u can cheat the angels r u seriousss u must be kidding, i highly think that is not true and the sheik wouldnt never had said that becasue in one of his other books it doesnt mention this subject. over all i think this one sentence who ever added it made me upset . i read all the hadith volumes and many sufi books. but this is realli sadd to c this sentence that the spititual guide will help u in ur grave , no one can help u exept allah host high most merciful most gracious

A fascinating read
While much of the book covers the typical topics found in Sufi books written by their grand Sheikhs (fundamentals, teachings, Islam etc) all in the form of story this book is a little different in that it was apparently written for a duel purpose.Apparently there was some controversy regarding the Sufi practice of Sama where the Sufis move and whirl in union while reciting Sufi chants or accompanied by music. A particular target seems to have been the Sufi practice of the Mevlevi (or to be more accurate the Mawlawi) Sufi order founded by Jalaluddin Rumi better known to us simply as "Rumi" as his Sufis as the "Whirling Dervishes" These Sufis are probably known through everything from trips to Turkey on holiday to those ads on CNN for Turkish airlines where men in long white robes and large cone like hats spin in union.A large part of the book is dedicated to an Islamic defence of this practice including a number of religious rulings from Islamic scholars over the centuries. This book for this reason is of particular interest especially in that it gives an insight into the Islamic justification for such practices.A pity that this book is now out of print and a little difficult to find as aside from Irshad, is probably the most beneficial to the Western reader.
