Galileo made himself one of the world's first telescopes and discovered the moons of Jupiter. He supported Copernicus' theory that the Earth revolved around the Sun. This brought him in conflict with the Catholic Church. By threatening him with torture, the Church forced him to recant his views in front of a tribunal, and sentenced him to house arrest. However, Galileo's trials and theories inspired others like Newton and Kepler to prove that the Earth was not the centre of the Universe. Bertolt Brecht's Galileo [DVD] [1975] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]This is a film which has a wider appeal than is initially obvious from the title. In my opinion it would appeal to someone who is either interested in Galileo's life, his discoveries, plays in general, literature Topol etc. Or, try it & be suprised-I was. If for any reason you find it difficult or, if you want to look further, get the book, too. I am sorry but your film did not PLAY in my dvd player
I have a t good quality DVD player and other films that I received on the same day are working fine but yours doesnot PLAY AT ALL, only KINO.WWW or something like that shows and then freezes... Can I either have a refund or a new copy? THANK YOUPS I will say the DVD arrived fast and looked in perfect shape... It just does not WORK Sorry
