Can have several hot drinks without having to reboil kettle. Good for around three hours after that water tepid but quick to reboil so cuts down on energy use

I love the design and keep hot feature but both my husband and I feel like we’ve strained our backs using it because it’s so heavy and you have to hold down the longer button on top to make it pour. It pours very slowly so your holding an odd posture waiting for it to fill up a cafetière etc. certainly wouldn’t be suitable for an elderly person. My husband and I are fit & healthy with young children so used to lifting heavy objects. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone sadly.

This is a very stylish kettle and the insulation is excellent. The hot water inside the kettle remains good and hot and a ‘reboil’ is super quick. So to a large extent it does it’s job. There are a couple of things I don’t really like about it, it doesn’t cut off when it reaches boiling point and continues to boil for a short while afterwards. Obviously this wastes energy and creates noise and unnecessary steam. If you push the lever down on the handle right the way down it will pour very slowly into your cup. If you wanted to pour faster, you have to remove the whole top which sort of defeats the object of all that insulation to a certain extent. Now, although it didn’t claim to have a window or any way of knowing how full the kettle is is a feature is much missed. It is quite a heavy item so it’s a bit difficult to tell what how much water is in it unless you remove the lid completely and peer down inside it. It is very nicely made very stylish and does keep the water hot. Although not available at the time I bought this, I would really have loved this kettle to have variable temperature control and a window to look into and possibly some type of quick pour lid.

Quiet, quick boil and keeps water warm.

I have just returned my second Vektra kettle in 18 months. Both kettles had the same fault. Where the plastic upper part of the kettle joins the metal outer skin the joint starts to leak. Vektra replaced the first kettle, and will hopefully replace the one I have just returned. On both occasions, because I purchased through Amazon, they expected me to pay the postage charges. It also took quite a while to receive the replacement kettle. So overall, a flawed design and poor customer service.

But the pouring action takes a little getting used to. You have to press down the lever and the pouring spout is quite narrow. And there is no filling indicator. But otherwise it boils quickly and keeps hot enough to use for tea for maybe 1 hour after boiling.

La idea es excelente: un hervidor que se mantiene caliente. Esto ahorra electricidad, lo que ahorra dinero y reduce las emisiones de CO2. El hervidor hace esto sin fallas, PERO... hay tres problemas principales y también un problema menor.En primer lugar, el hervidor comienza a hervir y oímos que se apaga, ¡pero luego lo hace tres veces más! Hervir. Hervir. Hervir. Hervir.¿Cuál es el propósito de esto? Realmente no lo sé. ¡El agua hirviendo no puede calentarse más! Entonces, hervirlo cuatro veces solo desperdicia electricidad.En segundo lugar, cuando abro la tapa, ¡esta tetera APESTA! La tapa es de plástico, pero me parece que huele a goma. Es un olor muy fuerte. Ahora hemos usado la tetera quizás 50 veces, en el transcurso de una semana, y el olor no ha desaparecido.¿Qué le está haciendo a mi agua potable? No sé... pero me preocupa.En tercer lugar, es muy difícil ver cuánta agua hay en la tetera. Naturalmente, no se puede ver a través de la pared, porque es una pared doble de acero inoxidable, pero como la abertura también es muy pequeña (para conservar el calor) hay que mirar dentro. Hay una barra de metal que indica la profundidad de agua, pero es muy difícil ver cuando el agua ha llegado. Por lo tanto, existe el peligro de que se sobrellene (lo que hace que el hervidor se desborde). Además, dado que uno no puede ver fácilmente si hay suficiente agua para dos tazas de café, uno siempre agrega más, quizás innecesariamente. Esto derrota el objeto (que es ahorrar electricidad).Por último, para mantener el agua caliente, la tetera tiene una tapa hermética. Para verter el agua, hay que presionar una palanca que abre el pico. Esto es bastante incómodo de hacer, y tienes que inclinar mucho la tetera para que salga el agua. Y sale en un chorro pequeño y débil.Podría vivir con los dos últimos problemas, pero no con los dos primeros. Lamentablemente, este hervidor tendrá que volverse.En el lado positivo, el aislamiento ciertamente funciona muy bien. Y el diseño se ve bien, el color es una combinación exacta para mi tostadora de Lidl :), y es bastante silencioso (mientras que mi hervidor de Lidl detiene todas las conversaciones en la habitación, es muy ruidoso).Otra cosa que olvidé mencionar: el hervidor se ordenó en Amazon.es, porque vivo en Iberia, pero se suministró con un enchufe del Reino Unido.ACTUALIZACIÓN: Escribí a Vektra, explicando los problemas con este hervidor. Me dijeron que devolviera la hervidor ya que no debe hervir cuatro veces. Sin embargo, no se disculparon -un pequeño detalle, quizás, pero es habitual que una empresa lo haga cuando ha causado molestias a un cliente - y no comentaron el hecho de que habían suministrado un hervidor con un enchufe británico para un cliente de la UE.Con respecto al olor a plástico, dijeron: "The Vektra Kettle has 18/8 grade stainless steel inside and out. *The only plastic used on the product are the trim and handle. *refers to the kettle itself and not the composition of the lid." ("El hervidor Vektra tiene acero inoxidable de grado 18/8 por dentro y por fuera. *El único plástico utilizado en el producto es el borde y el asa. *Se refiere a la tetera en sí y no a la composición de la tapa ." ) Habría dicho que la tapa es ciertamente una parte del hervidor!En vista de esto, he quitado una estrella. Me encanta el concepto de un hervidor eléctrico aislado, pero el proyecto necesita más trabajo. Y no volvería a comprar de esta empresa.

Came delivered without the base to boil the kettle, now it is just a thermos. Not happy!
