This a really decent hand bender. I use this to bend mostly aluminum, sheet metal and even thinner stainless steel sheets. I would recommend.

We needed to replace a few duct pieces because of a stray branch crashing down on my pantry area. We needed a few oddball pieces and the heating place wanted over $300 to make the special sizes. With this tool we were able to bend and make just what we needed at less than a third of the cost. Great tool and a great valoue.

For bending a flat sheet of metal, this 18-Inch Metal Bender Hand Tool is so much better than a hammer and anvil or vise. The 18” length is good for most DIY projects, and the tool is both heavy duty and well finished in yellow paint. The slots are precisely made, and the view ports are helpful in making sure your stock is inserted straight.I didn’t know how well this would work with just a bench top to work against. I was pleasantly surprised how easily it bent my sheet stock with just hand pressure, and how nice and uniform the bend was.Not being a metal-worker, it seems to me this tool is very basic and limited, with just the two depths (3/8” and 1”). And perhaps it is possible to do more than a simple bend or two on your workpiece, but I think that if it is, it is beyond my current abilities to plan and execute.If you have a need for exactly this type of bend, this tool does what it is designed for very nicely.

I had never seen such a simple way to make straight bends in sheet metal. This is a great little tool!

This is easy to use and gets results quickly for those small jobs at or below 18". I imagine you could use two of these in tandem. It slides on, align with marks and fold with downward pressure on the flat work surface. This tool is limited to a 1" depth of measurement for the bend. The material shown in the photos is 22 gauge powder coated galvanized steel. The bend was made without issues. Really nice to have tool if you do any quantiy of sheet work, a garage inventor or general DIY projects.

I have to admit I was expecting a folding tool that was a bit shorter. The tool itself is 18" long and quite substantial. Most of the bending I do is for small metal cases so I was expecting something about a foot long. (Yes, I know, I didn't read the description close enough. <sigh>).What I can say is that this works a whole lot better than pliers and a vice!
