The Littlest Elf

Every Christmas season I like to add to my daughter's collection of Christmas books and this one has vastly become one of her favorites. The story is about Oliver, a young elf who is excited to find out what his job will be for the Christmas season. Each of his family members takes him to work with them and he tries to help in the toy workshop, the bike shop, the bakery, and the writer's workshop, but in each of these places, he finds he's too little or clumsy to complete the tasks. He is sad because he feels he has nothing to contribute to Santa's team until he meets a small reindeer named Dot, who is having trouble learning to fly. They find friendship together and they also find their niche making small ornaments and cards as gifts for the other elves.I like the moral of the story that no matter how young you are, you can always find a way to help or find something that you are good at. It's very relatable to young children. The illustrations are colorful and engaging and the text keeps a young child's interest through the entire story without being too short or too wordy. There is also a sheet of stickers included with the book. Overall, this is a great addition to our Christmas collection that we will read for years to come.

Great children's Christmas book. It's a scholastic, which brings me back to my childhood memories about 25 years ago at the book fairs. :-) I got this for my 2.5 year old nephew for Christmas who LOVES to be read too. The pictures are very clear and the story is adorable. I also love that it comes with a page of stickers for the child to use on the book or add to a sticker book collection they may have. I'd highly recommend this for any child who loves reading and who loves books in general.

Purchased this book for a 24 day countdown to Christmas. I wrap up 24 books and put them in a open box. Then Dec. 1st I let one of my grandchildren open a book then I read it to them. This way they learn to count, listen, take turns and wait. It is fun to do.

This book is adorable. We had our Elf bring it to the kids this year when he first got her and they loved it. its a cute book about a small elf finally old enough for him to get a job at the north pole. He tries working with his mom, dad, brother, sister but none of the jobs worked for such a small little elf. One day he meets a new baby reindeer who is too small to pull Santas sled and they decide to work together on their own job perfect for them, spreading joy to everyone :)

He doesn't really find a job. It's so vague. Santa's just like, "you're my special little helper." If I am confused and disappointed by the ending my daughter surely will be.

cute book. it came later than expected but we had Christmas early. the way it was packaged, the book was bent so it looked a little used to be a gift but the grandson didn't care.

My littlest Elf loved it!! I bought this one for my 2 year old boy, and a different book for my 4 year old one. I set up a fancy table and got donuts and hot chocolate for a saturday breakfast when the Elf on the Shelf made his big entrance in a parade of stuffed animals and superheroes. They enjoyed the books, and this one is really cute.

I needed a book for my sons Kindergarten gift exchange. It was required to be Kindergarten friendly book and under $5. I picked this one. I read it before sending it off to make sure it was ok.This book is cute. It's perfect for a girl or a boy, which was a big thing for me since I didn't know who would get it. The pictures are fun to look at as well. I would consider buying it again for my own kids enjoyment! My son got a Thomas coloring book. He would've rather had this one.

my littles will love this...the stickers are cute.. illustrations are lovely, clear and large..story not too long...few sentences per page...brought to come with Elfie when he arrives on the 1st

Nice to read at Christmas time

Poorly written, American sayings ‘book maker’ ‘mom’ raised a few laughs. The artwork was excellent though.

Promt delivery. Nice little book used as a teaching resource for a class Christmas production.

My grandson loves this book. Great Christmas gift/stocking filler.
