Martin 92-WP3024B Mijello Airtight Leak Proof Fusian Watercolor 24-Well Palette

I have several of these for different paint brands and a smaller one for my preferred palette for florals.I've seen reviews with complaints about the hinges and latch, but those all date back several years. The manufacturer must have listened becuase I have no problem at all with hinges and latches. The paints will dry out if they're the type that don't have honey or some other softener in them. Shin-Han sure smells like honey, and the paints come back to life with the first touch of the paint brush. The very large try is excellent for mixing/preparing large amounts of pigment for washes and has a very nice little groove at one corner so that it easily lifts off. As someone else pointed out, it's a good idea to go over the plastic before use with a light scrubber so the paint won't pill up and be hard to mix. But this is also true of metal palettes. It's just part of the process. The staining paints will stain this, but they also stain metal. The only way to avoid that is to use a separate enamal coated tray or a dollar store porcelain plate. I love the way the wells are set out so that conveninence/specialty colors are easily separated in their own place, and the design of the wells is excellent. They're slanted down at an angle which makes it possible to add water to the edge of the paint if you want just a little. No need to get their entire well mushy and end up wasting paint. It also gives a little ridge you can use to drag your brush across it if you've picked up more paint than you want. I, too, got a few pans of Mission Gold and was sold on their quality.

Nice quality palette and I love the slanted wells. Seems to be made to last for several years. Only time will tell. I haven't actually painted with it yet but I will update concerning staining and beading in the mixing areas. I will also add pictures in the next couple of days once I have filled it with my paints and had a chance to use it. I didn't realize it's too large to fit in my cabinet with my other palettes. My bad, I would have ordered a different palette had I paid closer attention to the measurements. This one latches better than the smaller one by this company that I received last week. Several reviewers mentioned having received 2 sample pans of Mijello's paint. I have been wanting to try their paints, so It was disappointing that there were none included in with my palette. I guess this was a past promotional. All being said this seems to be a very nice palette that I would recommend. UPDATE: I have decided to knock off one star because of how easily this palette stains. Even non staining paints stain it. I have to bleach/clean it every time I decide to paint with new colors since the staining is so strong after only a couple of uses.

I have one of these pallets and liked it so much I ordered another for a different set of paints. Good points: the right number of paint wells for me and a lot of space for mixing paints. There is a second large mixing tray under the first one on the lid. The second palette arrived today and it has a defect - the mixing tray falls into the paint wells when you open the box. I ordered a new one and hope it's a good as the first.

I genuinely love this palette. I'm completely satisfied with it. Its very much worth the price for what it is. My water colors stayed moist out of the tube for over a week before they eventually dried out. The title says leak proof but I am not trying to use that feature. I do not dilute my watercolors in a crazy amount of water that would spill over. I believe that it would NOT leak out of the container because of the way it seals shut but I do not want to test that theory. The palette itself is well made. It's very sturdy. The removable mixing palette is awesome to use and easy to clean. The little wells have a bit of a grip on bottom and helps to not have the paint slip out when they eventually dry. I actually want to buy a smaller one to add more mixed colors. :-)

I looked at tge reviews and sm shocked that some people gave this less than five stars. For the price, this is the best watercolor travel pallet you can buy. I wish they had a place fir a label and that it was offered in colors other than blue, but that’s because I have three of them and plan on buying more. I am stocking one with with Earth colors snd set up another for landscape painting. The newest one is for urban sketching. I’m buying a future one for botanicals and a general watercolor field kit, These lends themselves to you creating mixes in advance. I rush they made one either an unbreakable shell snd ceramic wells and mixing area. I know, it would cost three times more, but it would outsell every other field pallet made.

After first purchasing a cheaper paint palette (and returning it) I decided on this one and am very happy with my purchase. I've been painting for decades and really like this palette for watercolor. First, as you can see by the images, it's large! 24 pans work well for me and I like that the mixing tray is removable. I was also able to easily clean the two mixing areas in the paint pan piece and it's perfectly clean. What sets this tray apart from the rest: 1. Sturdy plastic! 2. Excellent clasp that keeps your box closed 3. Easily cleanable 4. Perfect size 5. Great value for the price I don't know if this palette is water and air tight as I did not test it, but those aren't features I need using this as a watercolor palette. (I wouldn't use this for my acrylic or oil paints because the pans are a little small for that unless you do very small paintings). Overall, I am very happy with this brand and palette and look forward to many years of use.

Arrived in good time, was exactly what I expected. I like that the wells are on the one side. Nice size, could travel with it, but not as small as a one of the travel pallets - nice medium sized pallet. If I had any real complaint about this item it's that the mixing tray sits loosely in the one side and if you don't remember to open it with that side down then it's sitting on top of the paint side and you have to keep putting it back where it belongs. I knew this before I ordered it so it was no surprise. It's made so that you can use the inside of the lid as another mixing tray as well so I'm not sure how they can fix that unless they made it a little snugger fitting, or put a couple of clips on it.

Have just started using this but is great so far. No complaints.

La paleta supuestamente hermética y a prueba de fugas, al recibirla observe que tenía fugas, probé con liquido y se salía. Como decia la descripción en inglés que el color se mantenia húmedo durante días e incluso semanas, probé a poner dos colores acrilicos y en menos de 24 horas estaban secos. Ha sido un fracaso. No la recomiendo, porque no es hermética y además muy cara. No cumple la función que describe. La distribucion de la paleta está bien, pero el cierre es de plástico y al cerrarla se cae la paleta lisa y aunque la coloques bien, se ve que tiene holguras y no cumple su función. Voy a devolverla y buscaré otra mejor

Using it to keep tube paint useable and nice large mixing tray

Buen tamaño, buen diseño y buen material. Solo creí que sería a un poco mas delgada. Aun así excelente.
