BUY THESE YOU WONT REGRET IT
These insoles do what they are supposed to do. They are puncture resistant. But even better is the support they have. I have bought three pairs for different boots and will buy more because of the thickness and quality, they donāt wear down and they improve the way even your best wearing boot feel on your feet. You will not regret buying these.

Protection against punctures.
I am a hiker/photographer who often walk trails and locations with sharp objects underfoot. I have experienced having a nail go through my foot and did not want that to happen again so I bought these protected insoles for my boots. All I had to do was remove the current insoles, trim the steel flex ones to fit and insert them. They fit perfectly and after hiking four miles with the in I can say they are comfortable and provide excellent support with the added protection that I sought. Although, I have not tested their puncture resistance, Iām confident they are protecting much better than boots without them.

Great for my roofer boyfriend!
I bought these metal puncture resistant insoles for my boyfriend who's a roofer who happens to constantly get nails in his foot and always worried that he's going to hurt himself. This allows him to walk around all over the nails without worrying that he's going to get a nail in the foot and they work absolutely well for that! However one of the things I do have to say is that he constantly complained about how much his feet hurt from walking on these metal insoles. Because of this I ended up buying him an extra set of cushioned insoles to go over the top of them and it seemed to work out just fine. Also these really are size to fit and I accidentally bought a large at first and then that would probably fit him even though he wears a 12. I ended up having to return them in exchange for a larger size so do make sure you get the correct size when you're ordering. Other than the slight discomfort they seem to be working great and have been pretty durable.

Work better than the carbon fiber insoles costing four times as much
I bough these to help with my hallux rigidus from a dorsal bunion, not for nail punctures. They work extremely well to prevent flexing of the big toe at the affected joint. These include very supportive insoles with a steel liner inside to prevent flexing. The steel provides as good or better flex protection than the carbon fiber insoles that cost twice as much for only one. I first bought a carbon fiber insole, and since I had to wear it with my Ortho insole, it raised my feet up in the toe box more than I wanted. The carbon fiber ones also slide around more in the foot bed, and they are hard to cut if needed.I wear these mostly for yard work and house repairs in an old pair of Brooks Addiction Walkers. The medium fits well in my size 8.5 4E. My feet are 75 years old and have seen a lot of wear and tear. These insoles really help relieve pain. I'm buying another pair to use around town.

Uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous
After years of buying steel insoles from steelsoles.com, and them now no longer selling directly to the general public, I found these. Most of the reviews were good, some weren't. I decided to order a pair.I regretted it almost immediately. They are much thicker than they have to be; and the sides, from the arches to the heal, are too. They stick up so much, and are quite stiff, that they caused serious issues on my left heel. To the point of developing an ulcer. I eventually cut of those high areas, which brought some relief. The durability is questionable too. The fabric in the toe area wore out fairly quickly.Do they protect you from sharp objects? Absolutely. But: I'm still dealing with that ulcer, months after throwing these things away. And injuries like that, as a diabetic, is what I was trying to PREVENT with steel insoles.Find something else.

Useful Insoles
So far they work as advertised. If you're using them in work boots, as long as your boots are a little roomy they will work great. I bought them to wear in work boots to avoid nails and other sharp debris and I also bought them as a stiff insole to help reduce turf toe. They are much stiffer than your typical insole l, so they're good to prevent too much unwanted bending. The only issue I've had is that I can only use them in a couple pairs of shoes. Because of their thickness I can't fit my foot in most of my shoes with them in and yes I removed the other insole first. Not a huge deal considering their mostly intended for work boots which they fit in mine just fine.

Protected the sole, hurt the toes
Our property has an incredible anime of different kinds of stone and rock. All gravel or casting slag drivers etc. A lot of the stones are pointy and are causing discomfort to three bottom of my feet. I wear Merrell hiking boots. I should note that this pair does not have the vibram insole. I don't know if that makes a difference but it may be important. The inserts felt great except that the composite shank that runs the extent of the foot including the heel and the arch did not fully extend to the edge of my toes so as I walk the property I got calluses and blisters on my toes. They were a little long so the tire curled up a bit in the nose of the shoe, causing pressure. I considered what the would feel like if they were a better fit in an the toe but the shank already does not extend fully in the toe area. Great idea but shank could be longer fitting more precisely and the shank broke through the padding of the insert causing a stress area. Almost!!!

Good fit
Nice light weight and good fit in my size 12 shoes. So far no punctures at my work sites.
