If you buy it long, it doesn't really matter because the belt tail just slides behind the belt and buckle and you never see it. It came with extra screws for the buckle but I hope they never fall out because I can barely see the damn things as it is.

This is a great belt. I love it.

After a month of using it, the belt is good but nothing great. In particular the strap material seems excellent. The buckle on the other hand leaves room for improvement. The buckle holds the belt with a simple level which works well for casual wearing. But if you sit and put strain on the mechanism it can not hold onto the desired tightness. A better buckle in my eyes would be a over/under system without moving parts. If I see a nice one I might replace the buckle.
