The Leisure Induction is a very powerful induction because it elicits and utilizes a client's experience. It really is an elegant way to engage somebody's imagination and very much in the Erickson tradition.Graham does an excellent job of breaking the induction down, but also gives a ton of great content to allow you more than just an induction. It provides you the principles as well as an assortment of exercises, examples, and ways to take this induction and apply it in a variety of ways. I find Graham's books all incredibly well-written, very thorough, and much more than just an instruction manual of an induction or style. It really is like a master class. If you just want an induction, you can find that online. If you want to achieve mastery, this book (and this series) will really help get you there. To me, that makes these books worth more than the price tag, and is really where Graham's books shine.While I'm a fan of Graham and the whole series so far (I have several, have been impressed with them all), I like this one because it is a master class on the Leisure Induction, but it also serves as a very solid lesson in Erickson's principle of utilization (which is a fundamental part of what made his work so powerful and revivification (which makes going into trance effortless since they're revivifying or reliving past trances and experiences). That gives this book value far beyond any singular induction, and I give it my highest recommendation.

This is an awesome book. It is a must have for your hypnosis library. I was pretty sure it would be because I've been a long time reader of Mr. Graham's website www.howtodoinductions.com and a fan of his non-none sense intelligent writing. What I love about this book are the transcripts and that it includes not only the how to of this great induction but the whys. The whys are important because they allow you to understand how you can take this Leisure induction and change it around, customize it for your subject/client's needs. Starts off simply and gradually builds upon it. It is a set of building blocks for this induction that presents it in a very straight forward way. The exercises are great & very relevant to skill building. Powerful stuff this book. It is explained in depth in such a way you can't help but absorb this delightful induction :) My practice partners & clients have thoroughly enjoy it. This book is so good I keep coming back to see if Mr. Graham has written another in depth on another induction yet. I intend to purchase every single one he writes. It is that good. This author is a thinker and a doer both.

Very clear & to the point. No fluff,no yammering on & on. Very easy to read & well explained. Seem's like he's trying to help you as opposed to just trying to sound good. A little too pricey though hence the 4 stars.

Such a pleasant way to guide clients into trance and hypnosis. Using their own pleasant experiences, calling attention to the pleasure the client gets from the experience, creating hypnotic moments, causing them to go inside... and ultimately follow your instructions to close their eyes and go into hypnosis. I've used this on people that were resistant to going into trance and an hour later they emerged thinking 10 minutes had gone by. Very well presented by Graham. He has a wonderful way of giving you the information, breaking down why and how it works, then giving you exercises to practice using the induction. Highly recommended. G

As a practising hypnotherapist, Graham Old's works have always come as a breath of fresh air within this field. They are straightforward, useful and contain no irrelevant fluff. This book is no different. It is chock full of practical, interesting and relevant information.

Tellement de mythe sur l'hypnose dite conversationnelle qui propose souvent des techniques super complexes et totalement inapplicables. D'ailleurs ceux qui les enseignent font souvent des démos très mauvaises n'appliquant pas ce qu'ils enseignent. Ici, le thème n'est pas l'hypnose conversationnelle et pourtant, c'est sûrement la manière la plus simple et la plus efficace de s'en approcher.Détaillé pas à pas de manière très pédagogique. Une petite pépite que je recommande régulièrement aux praticiens en hypnose que je forme et qui parle anglais.Graham Old, il serait intéressant que vous le fassiez traduire en Français, enfin surtout pour mes stagiaires non anglophones. A mon avis, c'est un livre remarquable, à recommander à tout ceux qui pratiquent déjà l'hypnoseIl est nécessaire de s'entrainer un peu mais pour moi, les promesses de l'auteurs sont tenuesLe patient rentre bien en transe après quelques échanges avec lui, portant sur une de ses passions
