Having no other experience with fruit purees, I can only say that I find it tasty, and quite blackberry-ish. I wish it were less sweet, but at least there is no high fructose corn syrup in it. That stuff is deadly. Used some in my cranberry sauce just to give it a different little kick, and it's also good drizzled over pancakes when you're a maple syrup hater like me. I usually spread pancakes with strawberry preserves, but this is good, too.
