They look nice as plant soil toppers. I followed what another reviewer said about soaking them first, and they bubbled quite a bit. It was almost like carbonated soda! I wanted to buy natural/brown rocks after my white gravel kind of yellowed, so the price to amount you get is really good.

So much dust. I water my plants and a smoke cloud comes up.

Small granules. Consistent sizes. Using as a soil amendment an also as a top dressing.

Reasonable price

Just a warning that the acidity of this turface is very very high. When it comes in contact with water, it fizzes and releases sulphur gas (smells like rotten eggs). You'll need to soak these for awhile and/or find ways to reduce the acidity before you use it with any live plants.That being said, the particle sizes are extremely uniform and once it's been "cleaned" I'm sure it's good to go.
