Chocolate milkshake flavour
I've been dieting since May and have been using this as a meal replacementI've lost 2st since I started and it's very palatable. A good chocolate flavour and if you use an electric whisk for 2 minutes you get a nice thickness. Easy to measure with the handy spoon inside, fills you up so no snacking and it's great value for money

A big success for me.
I always have a very small brunch, a couple of diet crackers with hard boiled egg or ham or tuna with cucumber etc. Then my evening meal. But, and this is a big but, I always used to graze in the afternoons, a packet of crisps, a few biscuits a slice of cake, you get my drift. These Slimfast drinks have stopped the grazing completely, and I am losing weight, very slowly mind you as my mobility is extremely poor, and I spend most of my time sitting. So any help I can getting is a big plus. I have the strawberry flavour which is delicious and just like a milk shake. Plus of course you make them with 250ml of milk which is another bonus. The price for a 16 meal tin is excellent, much better than anywhere else, so I think I will get my next tin on 'subscribe and save'. It'll save me having to re-order them every month.

Maltodextrin concern. Buyer beware.
I have been using Slimfast for a couple of days now. The flavour is nice, maybe a little on the sickly sweet. It is easy to use and seems to keep hunger at bay between meals, so that is good. My one concern and it is a real concern, that may prevent me from repurchasing this product is as follows. Slimfast state that no added sugar, but, the nutritional info states 21g of sugars! This is about 5 teaspoons of sugar (Wow). There is no cane sugar added, but, The second ingredient listed is Maltodextrin. Maltodextrin will most likely spike your blood glucose levels, along with Insulin levels higher than table sugar. I strongly suspect that around 30% to 40% of the calories come from this highly processed worse than sugar equivalent. This is in no way a balance meal, and I think labelling the product with no added sugar is playing with words and misleading and could damage some peoples health if used long term.I will use up what I have and look for a more healthy option.Dear reader, don't take my word for it, just look at the nutrition stats on the carton, then google Maltodextrin. I might add Slimfast don't state how much Maltodextrin they have added, but I suspect it accounts for the majority of the sugar they state in the nutritional list.Hope this helps you, dear reader to make an informed choice.FURTHER THOUGHTS AND BALANCE- Have now been using Slimfast Powder/Shakes for 4 days now and I have found that it satiates me for 3/4 hours, which means I can easy go 5 hours without eating anything; this is a big plus for me. I use full fat milk and top up with water to 400ml; This I think will lower the Glycaemic Markers, lessening the effects of any insulin spikes because of the extra fat in the milk. Of course this adds extra calories, but because I have a more substantial shake, I don't need any snacks, but I do take a piece of fruit. The tweaked Shake still has a nice consistency because of the whole milk, and I find it takes the edge of, what I find, that excess sweetness. When I look at the cost of this product and the initial positive effects it is having on me and my tweaking of the recipe, I felt I had to be balanced in my review, and so this update.I have ordered some meal replacements from Protein Works, and when they arrive, I will reduce to one shake a day to reduce the amount of simple sugars I am consuming daily with two of these shakes. I will add that PWs also do their own version of powder shake, but it contains a lot less sugars than SF, although about double the price per shake. I may yet go for this when I run out of SF.I must say, since cutting out snacking on junk i.e. cakes, biscuits, pasties, sausage rolls, etc, and eating more fruit and veg, I feel so much better (more energy) and less brain fog. With regard to weight loss, it is much too early to review that, but I think the law of cause and effect will bring about a positive change in this area.Slimfast has helped me to break bad habits and replace them with good ones and so, I have added a star to my review. I will update on weight loss in due course; for the record my start weight was 111.5 kg at just over 6ft tall., my target is 90kg with staged targets of 106kg then 100kg, 95kg, and finally 90kg.I am aiming for end of January 2024 to reach my target (God willing).I am nearly 64yrs old and tired of feeling tired, which I put down to my lousy diet and life style, which is preventing me from doing the thing which I loved to do, and want to go back to, which go for nice long walks. I am blessed to be still in good health, so change is well overdue. Time to get off my big fat arse and take responsibility for the garbage I have been shovelling down my throat day after day and the bad habits connected with it. If Slimfast can contribute to this turnaround, then it can't be that bad.Hope, dear reader this little ramble will be useful to you.Watch this space

Excellent
If you can trawl through this, I apologise that it's so long, but I do offer some tips that some people might find useful.I am a 'more mature' woman (65, actually, so very mature) and have yo-yo dieted most of my life. As a consequence, I have totally messed up my metabolism. 6 years ago I lost 3 stone easily by just eating only healthy foods, but that doesn't cut it any more. For the first 4 months of this year I went on the same regime, as I had regained 2 of the stone I lost last time, and lost absolutely nothing at all. That was on a very strictly recorded 1200 calories a day. This, incidentally, is a warning to all those who tell themselves they have lost weight before, they will always be able to do it again. There comes a point when your body thinks "oh, here we go again. I'd better hang onto all that fat, I might need it to survive". So I had to do something quite radical. I feel like it's my last chance.I dislike fad diets, and hate the word diet, but Slimfast does seem to break my prejudices. I always say that if it were possible to give up eating in the same way as people give up smoking or drinking, losing weight would be easy. But you can't, and it's very important not to develop an uneasy relationship with food. By replacing one or two meals a day with a shake that provides so many nutrients removes having to think about what to eat, stressing about it, and getting an unhealthy attitude around eating. Plan the meal that you are going to eat with thought, and you can look forward to that and not feel you're missing out. The feeling of missing out is one of the main reasons why people regain the weight they have lost.I use soya milk, as I don't like real milk, and it is closest to the proper stuff in nutritional value. I add psyllium husk to the soya and put it in the fridge until the next shake time, which makes it very thick, fills me up and keeps my digestion working efficiently. It's also good for gut flora. If left overnight, you have to eat it with a spoon. I also find it makes the shake taste less sweet. I add ice and use a blender. For 4 days a week my evening meal is homemade soup, always pulse based to give plenty of protein and be very filling. For the other 3 suppers I have something like fish or chicken salad, or wholewheat pasta with a tuna or seafood based sauce. So, how have I done? Well, it's been 21 days, and I have lost 8lbs. I think that's too much, if anything, as 1 to 1.5 lbs is a better rate of loss, but it will slow down. I plan to lose 3.5 stone, and I think that I will do it with Slimfast, as I really don't feel deprived in any way.But remember, whatever weight loss method you go for, there is one vital ingredient that you cannot buy; will power. Recognise what it is that makes you overeat (we all have triggers: stress, anger, that glass of wine that makes you lose your focus and judgement) because once you are aware of them, you can be on the alert and guard against them. Find ways of rewarding yourself that don't involve food, and, most importantly, if you do slip one day and eat a pizza because you've had a bad day, just start the next day as if it never happened!

Blueberry SlimFast... really!?
I order this a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this here in Amazon. First, they don't sell them here in Canada, at least not in Quebec, so I didn't even look at the price and got me one... very good!
