I bought this on audible and enjoyed listening to it so much I bought a used copy of the book. It is a treasure. I wanted copies of all of the poems she suggests having children memorize. My favorite is the last one about being a winner...it's not what you think. I was inspired by the constructive ideas that built on the values I was raised with. It made me want to get a home phone again, after listening to her talk about teaching your children manners, talking to adults, and taking messages. I think a return to these values would be a great benefit for this upcoming generation.

Amazing!!! Feeling very grateful to this extraordinary woman to share this book with the people. Highly, highly recommended. Much insight and practical advice from a teacher about building a child up and raising a winner. I am not a teacher, yet it is one of the most important books i've read/listened.

They don't make 'em like this anymore! What a simple but deep little book. Meaningful quotes, some by Marva, and some by others. I like the suggestions on how to instill values, in small but effective ways, in your children. It's encouraging and inspiring at the same time. Something I'll read over and over.
