Good rread

Good plot with plenty of twists. As far as I can tell, this seems to be the last novel by John Francome, with this paperback edition issued 10 years ago. From his time with Channel 4 racing, I know he has a great sense of humour and a thorough knowledge of the racing game. This was an enjoyable read, but not that much about actual horse racing itself. I have several more of his novels in my bookcase and have now ordered the 5 I haven't got, to complete the set. 4 stars as it would be impossible for him to be as good a writer as he was a jockey, but he still tells a good tale. Will pass this book on to my mother now (being free of swear words, unlike many newer books) and look forward to reading some more of John's books in due course.

If you can work this crime drama out from the start you should not be a reader. It has so many different avenues the reader takes you down, it’s impossible to put the book down.Murder, infidelity, fraud, cunning and downright drama, it’s got the lot.A good read with a tremendous finish, just like a Francombe winner.

this book is not nearly as good as some of the other books that he has written. lacking in the " cannot put down" catagory.

Super easy reading

I haven't read too much Francome. After this I will read more. Good story and characterisations.Enough of the racing theme to keep people satisfied, sympathetic individuals and a well structured and interesting story line. And guess what a body has just been found up a tree in Bournemouth.Going on line now to select another Francome!

In excellent condition

Another great story from John Francome. I sometimes feel cheated when I read his books as I get so enthralled that I can't put them down! I have most of his books and as time goes by I can read them all over again.
