This blind has some good points - its relatively simple to put up. However the bottom does not completely blockout light due to the design, the rubberstrip leaves a small band of light. The quality isnt as good as my original velux blind but it was 1/2 the price. If you want it to last I suspect the true Velux would be better, my old one lasted 12 years.

One of the blinds has already got a hole in it!!!!!
I am very shocked that already one of the blinds has already got a hole in it that it gradually getting bigger!!!!!

Bought as a cheaper option to genuine Velux blind
We bought this blackout blind for out daughter's 2nd window in her loft bedroom. The blind is adequate for her needs as it will not be opened/closed on a daily basis. We have a genuine Velux blind fitted on her main window, which has a much smoother guide rail fitment. However this one serves it's purpose, which is to block out early morning sunshine during the summer months. The guide rail did pose us some problems as it did not fit the Velux window exactly which initially left a gap at the bottom of the window where light came in. However we lowered the guide rail, which means that it is not securely fitted at the top, simply resting in the top brackets by a few milimetres. We would perhaps have returned it to the company had it been a window used more frequently, but with care it will open easily enough; therefore we decided to keep it.
