Whole Lobe of Fresh Duck Foie Gras - Grade A - Flash Frozen - 1 lobe, 1.8-2.0 lbs

While it is billed as weighing 1.8-2.0 lbs, the package arrived today and weighed 23.1 oz. That's less than 1.5 lbs. We have not tried it yet, but the smaller weight is disappointing. This is 20 to 25% less than advertised

Only ordered one, not two. Got both of these in the shipment. ~1.4 lbs each, so I have to imagine they didn’t have any 1.8+ and sent two smaller ones instead. I’m not complaining AT ALL. Shipped in well-enough insulated box with cold packs and clear temp indicators on the outside. Still frozen solid on arrival. Also was delivered 8 days faster than they said it would be which was great!If you look close enough at the picture, you can tell the vacuum sealing wasn’t perfect. Both bags came with air in them due to small punctures, but nothing I can’t redo myself. I can’t be too sure about freshness, or when the duck was originally processed, there’s no labeling, but it does appear to be real Hudson Valley foie gras.Edit: Defrosted and seared. Foie gras tasted fantastic. It is NOT deveined. Excellent value for money. Will absolutely be buying again.The product and listing definitely deserve 5 stars, if nothing else based only on the fact they sent me a full lb more than expected! If you run a Michelin star restaurant, obviously you’re going to pay the extra to order your Foie gras fresh and through HV directly. But for the average chef at home looking to purchase this to incorporate in some incredible meals, I think this is perfect and convenient at a fantastic price point. I had reservations when ordering this via amazon, but those are gone now.Thanks A & B, the distributor I bought it through, and thanks HV. Not every day expectations are exceeded and this was a hellofa purchase to be impressed on. I’d buy this again in an instant, and probably will once I use this up.

The product was shipped quickly and arrived in immaculate condition. This is a huge portion of foie gras at a very reasonable price.A similar portion from other sellers would cost $50 more.Absolutely thrilled to have this as part of our Thanksgiving dinner.
