Fashion Since 1900: The Complete Sourcebook Hardcover – Illustrated, May 14, 2007

I ordered this book to help me select costumes for a local theater group. Sometimes it is difficult to tell which era a donated dress or suit is from.I liked the way the clothing was drawn in pen and ink instead of photos. One can clearly see the defining lines of the styles. It will be a very useful book.It would have been more helpful to have had a greater number of drawings in the category of "daywear" and to have omitted the category of "underwear". However, I am sure that she did not just have costumers in mind when the book was written.

It wasn't the reference book I needed. As a picture book of 100 years of fashions it' great.

I have been trying to date old family photos and this book was extremely helpful. Instead of photos it has drawings. The drawings are good, because the important features are made to stand out. It includes clothing for various activities, from formal to active wear and underwear and accessories. It has helped me in my attempts to date my photos from the early 1900s.

I love the illustrations in this book! I just wish there were a lot more of them.

My girlfriend is into fashion and so I bought this for her as a christmas present and she loved it, great great coffee book table!

Exquisitely presented book, lavish illustrations and informative narrative by John Peacock. Amazing detail, too in this comprehensive history of costume in the 20th Century.

I bought this as I thought it would be the best book to quickly view the changing silhouettes of fashion. I really like the book and the illustrations.
