Quality product that grips well. The hold on the food being cooked needs to be firm and not slip off. Easy to clean and love the length.

Great company and great tongs. The surface area where you grab items is made to hold onto what you grab, whether chicken, pork, or steak. When you grab it, you have it. In most tongs I have come across, the surface area is flatter, and items can slide out. I prefer the locking part where you push in or pull out the lock to allow you to use the tongs. I use the shorter version almost daily because they are well constructed. The extended handle tongs I am reviewing are being used in the grill, and they work great.

Gave it 4 stars because I haven’t had much use with these tongs yet, but so far it’s all been positive. Was looking for a nice set of long tongs to use on the grill which would lock shut for storage and resting on a plate for the drippings while in use, but could be opened and shut with one hand. Positives: the gripping portion of the tongs come together nearly parallel and can grab even the thinnest of the foods I’ve used it on, the locking switch has a nice lip on it which catches the pants pocket, belt, shelf edge, etc to open, and has cleaned easily so far. Cons: just one...the lock is stiffer than another similar one I purchased before. It feels like it grinds through its mechanism and though it needs a little more force to open, it’s not a hinderance. Would definitely buy again, especially over the locking tongs with circular or other locking levers which need two hands to open.

I have many Edlund locking tongs. They are all I use and I have gone out of my way over the years to only have them in my kitchen arsenal of tools. They are high quality, the spring is perfect and I have had nothing but good luck with. My favorite feature is the lock on them. So when I ordered these 16" ones, described as locking, I was quite surprised to find when I opened them, they have no locks. Sorry not interested. Sending them back.

16” is longer than you think. You sacrifice a bit of control, but gain distance from the heat source etc. these feel very solid. Seem like a buy it for life offering.

These are the best tongs you’ll ever buy. Grips objects well and made in the USA with superior stainless steel.

Someone has mislabeled the tongs. There is a sticker covering the etched name and description of the tongs, the tongs are accurately etched as non-locking, but the sticker covering that says Locking. So despite ordering locking tongs, ours also do not lock. Yours may not either, if you get these.

These will be my BBQ tongs, but I have three other Edlund tongs. They are the best.Love the USA part, plus the locking feature and sturdiness.

Not really heavy duty. Will do the job, but I am a little underwhelmed by these tongs. The tongs are flimsy and cheap. I will look around and purchase another pair of tongs. I would not recommend purchasing these.
