Astounding Quality for the Price
They might exist, but I haven’t seen any other products on Amazon rated by more than 2000 customers with an average rating of 4.8 or higher. And after receiving this Bandai Biollante figure, I immediately knew why so many have rated it so highly. The Real Deal:It’s been mentioned in other reviews, but it bears repeating that this is a top-quality original Japanese product (as opposed to a Chinese knock-off).Context & Perspective:In 1989, while I was living in Japan, I saw the theatrical release of Godzilla vs Biollante (ゴジラ対ビオランテ). As a long-time Godzilla fan, I was struck by the uniquely bizarre and fascinating origin, transformation, form, and presence of the Biollante monster. And although to general audiences it’s the least-known monster in the world of Godzilla, a substantial number of fans consider this film and its titular monster to be the best in Godzilla history. In Japan I purchased several Godzilla figures from different companies (but no Biollante was available). And while the NECA figures have the best articulation, I feel the Bandai figures are more accurate and more aesthetically satisfying realizations. The relatively recent Bandai release of Biollante is no exception.Quality & Value:(Why Biollante is cheaper than Mothra, Rodan, Gamera, King Gidorah, etc.)A few reviewers have suggested that it is overpriced at around $20. I can only guess that they must feel that $20 is expensive for what they consider to be a children’s toy. But for us adults who appreciate things like this, we would be hard-pressed to find another monster figure from the Godzilla films of this quality for less than $80. (And it is of similar quality to several Godzilla products costing $130 or much more).Additionally, it’s highly likely that the value of this figure will significantly increase over time. And if the rumors are true that a future Godzilla Monsterverse film will include Biollante, this figure’s value would likely increase even further. The only criticism I can imagine more serious collectors having is in regards to the scale of the figure. In the movie, Biollante towers over Godzilla, and its giant mouth can easily engulf Godzilla’s head. But the Bandai Godzillas I’m aware of from the era of Biollante (including those I purchased in Japan) are considerably too large for this. If someone knows of Bandai Godzillas (or any others of high quality) that match the scale of this Biollante figure, please post a review with that info! The last testament to the quality of this figure I’d like to mention is the exceptionally high number of photos customers have been inspired to post. (Thanks so much to all of you.) I added my own photo of the figure because I thought this monster deserves a headshot!

Yeah it's good
So first of all, a lot of people think this thing is not in scale with the rest of the Bandai stuff and all that. They're right... But like.... It's not as bad as you'd think. If you just like making your kaiju monsters sit around and look cool, you won't have any problems with this thing. If you are going to use it by making it fight other kaiju ( in which the case is that you are either a child or an adult who still plays with toys, who i should mention i have great respect for) then chances are, the size difference won't bother you, as you are probably an imaginative person who can deal with a maybe two inch difference to proper scale. It's actually in pretty decent scale with most other Bandai figures. But it still could be a little bigger. Other than that, it's perfect in my opinion. It's very sturdy, you could probably spend about 15 minutes trying to break it, with minimal success. It's got really good paint, and the sculpt is fantastic. It's got all kinds of details. Like, there's thorns and vinesand stuff and it looks really good. It's not very articulated, but I don't think it needs very much articulation. You can move the two vines in the front, and you can move the head. Overall, it's a really good biollante.

As a mega fan of Godzilla, This is great.
I collect Godzilla Bandai figures and have quite the collection. So I can say figure is amazing. So here are the nit picks with this figure. Still keep in mind it’s worth your money. The mold wasn’t as in-depth as I would have thought. The back arms are tangled together to save space and probably plastic. It’s not bad though. Another thing that should be mentioned is that the figure isn’t in scale with other 6” figures but that’s to be expected with the size of Biollante in Godzilla Canon. But the greatness of everything else outweighs the nit picks. The paint job is stellar and brings life to a character that is hard to adapt. The details on the mold itself other than my previous gripe are great. She really looks like a plant and she looks great next to other figures. It’s fantastic to finally see an affordable figure of this incredible character. Buy this figure if you haven’t already!

Excellent biollante figure, definitely worth the money!
This biollante figure is eye candy! It’s details on it are very very cool! However, the figure is not very well painted in some areas, like the two vines on the back which don’t have any teeth or mouth paint despite being open. The tusks on biollante’s mouth are only half painted which really sucks because it would’ve made a huge difference! Biollante only has three points of articulation, which isn’t bad for a figure of her build, since she’s only a big plant with a mouth so there’s only so much you can do, especially for a vinyl figure. My biggest issue with this figure, besides the paint application in some areas, is that it’s very small, much smaller than any other Bandai vinyl figure in my collection, which is a real bummer since she’s supposed to be MUCH bigger than Godzilla himself, but it’s not too much of an issue because I looked at pictures before purchasing so I knew what I was getting into when buying this. This figure is beautifully crafted and painted but just make sure that you look up videos and photos before buying. I see a lot of angry parents in the comments because they didn’t expect to find a small figure, so I suggest you guys really look into this figure before buying it.

Great value for the money and looks great!
Honestly surprised biollante is going for $19 as of 2/1/24. Try to get it if you can. The scaling is slightly strange compared to other 6" figures, but it still takes up shelf space since it's a wide figure. I can understand why they didn't make it taller (besides it costing more for Bandai). Highly recommend.
