This item works fine to switch between a Fire Stick and a Dishnet feed. I did not want to use an automatic switch for this purpose because I believe you need to turn off unused sources if you use automatic switching. I did not want to turn off the Dishnet DVR because it is set to record programs. Just place this switch where it is easy to access the button and press it as needed.

It’s a pretty good bargain for what I paid ($6.95 at the time of purchase). It is plugged in and in use about 4-10 hours a day, depending on what I’m doing. I use it to connect my PS4 and my PC the same monitor and use the button/switch to toggle between devices. It does cause the monitor to black out occasionally when I’m gaming (which it didn’t do before I installed the switch) but it usually just lasts long enough for me to get killed once in COD, lol. However, it is a 10 year old HP monitor and for less than $7 I would buy it again for sure. It beat unplugging the hdmi from the PS4 and plugging it into the PC every time.

I modified the HDMI switcher to be controllable through a Raspberry PI GPIO pin. Basically, I removed the main switch and replaced it with a NPN transistor that can be toggled by the PI. In its default state, an external HDMI signal is displayed. With the GPIO port enabled, the PI's HDMI signal gets displayed. For $10 in parts total, this was a pretty simple way of allowing the PI to programatically interrupt an existing HDMI signal.The construction of this HDMI switcher is solid, and the HDMI output looks very good in my usage. The metal case does make it a bit heavy for its size, but it's probably more durable as a result.

Have one HDMI port on TV. Used this to connect an XBOX and firestick to the HDMI port. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work must disconnect everything and reconnect. Also, the light on port 2 burnt out shortly after purchase. Firestick gets very warm to the touch. Not sure if that's normalToo late to return. Would not buy again.

Works great! I have FireTV and Chromecast always on and hooked up to this. Just push the button to switch. Only improvement I can think of would be to have all plugs on the back, to give a better appearance. Then it could sit unobtrusively on top of the cable box.

Works fine. I needed two to switch two inputs and one output to deal with the limitations of my old large screen TV (only one HDMI input) and this enables me to watch content from either DVD or my Fire TV Stick. Simple press of the button cycles from one input to the other. I would have preferred the couch potato version where it senses and switches automatically, but that added unwanted $$$ to the cost.

I used mounting tape to mount it to the underside of my desk. Then I ran my Xbox into one input and my PS4 into the other one. I connected my output to my TV/monitor. Now all I have to do is reach under my desk and press the button on the switch to go between Xbox and PS4. But this could work with any two inputs/outputs. Does what it's supposed to. Perfect.

This splitter requires both of it's sources to be on to have power and function properly. Unfortunately, I cannot give a positive review, because I also cannot return the item. This item is not eligible for return or replacement either, which is why I will only give a one star review.
