They work, and this is better than buying a set containing sizes I'll never use.

If you have stripped threads this kit works as intended. I would definitely buy this again.

I stripped a thread on the timing tensioner, got a helicoil set thread repair from O’Reiley for about $75, then I tried Amazon, found this fantastic deal with quick shipment promise. So I bought this and got it pretty fast about 2 days. The drill bit and tap are made in from high quality material, they did the job, now I can return the O’Reiley. Big money savings!

This is the 2nd brand of this tool I have purchased and while this one was less expensive than the other brand the durability was better and allowed me to complete the job easily which gives a better value for the money and the fitment and size were perfect as advertised.

I got the M8 thread repair kit. It can be difficult to find the exact drill bit and tap needed for M8 helicoil inserts. You probably won't find them in a standard drill bit set or tap set. This thread repair kit makes it easy by including the exact size of drill bit and tap necessary. The kit is very easy to use. First, drill out the damaged thread, use the tap on the newly drilled hole, thread in the helicoil insert using the included installation tool, then break off the tab using the included tool. It took my less than five minutes to complete a repair. The only things you need to already have is a drill and a tap wrench. If you don't have a tap wrench, search the internet for alternative tools to use. The price is very good for this kit.

As a diesel mechanic, my husband uses a lot of different tools and therefore is always looking to add to his tool collection. I saw this kit and asked what size he needed. He chose the M8. I had ordered another similar one for him and he liked it so much that I knew another one in a different size would definitely be useful. This one is a lot more useful as the size is a bit more common. He likes the quality very much and is very happy with the case as it'll help keep the set together.
