Handmade in the USA: Sara Monica Men's Flower Lapel Pin Boutonnieres are entirely handmade, starting from the fabric with antique flower making tools, in the studio of Sara Monica Flower Crafts in Dunellen, NJ by a small team of artisans. They are 2 inches in diameter (5 cm). Made from stiffened polyester crepe back satin fabrics and have a clutch pin backing. They’re packaged in individual small boxes. Mainly worn by men on business suits. Made with traditional millinery flower making techniques. The fabric is first washed and then soaked in fabric stiffener, hung to dry one yard at a time. The fabric stiffener works as a binder to keep the threads in the fabric from fraying at the edges. It also makes the fabric pliable so the petals can be molded into flower petal shapes. The fabric is cut with custom made sharp dies (cutting tools) to also reduce fraying of the fabric, for a polished professional look. The petals are then pressed in antique heated bronze molds which were handmade and hand cast in the early 1900’s by NYC flower tool artisans. The process of pressing the petals in the heated molds shape the fabric petals into the curves of flower petals. The small flower petals are then meticulously hand glued together to form the shape of the final rounded flower. They are handmade by a highly skilled and professionally trained artisans in the USA.

About the pin: it's awesome. Way better in person than the photo and I was stoked when I saw the photo so even more happy when I received it. On top of that, the way it was packaged definitely sent home the fact that she cares about her product and that's awesome and appreciated.About Sara: I made a mistake when I ordered this pin. I thought that this was eligible for prime shipping and when I received my purchase confirmation, I freaked out a bit because I wanted it for my engagement photo shoot (ordered Friday, needed today / Wednesday 3/15). I immediately contacted Sara and let her know my plight and she managed to make it happen for me and kept in touch through it all. Sara's a wonderful human, this pin is excellent and I look forward to needing more.

Small but elegant!

It's for Men, not Women
After receiving an email explaining the flower by the designer, I am retracting my review. The flower is designed for men and not women which I was not aware of when I ordered. My apologies to the designer and I want to thank him/her for sending an email explaining why the lapel flower was small.

Awesome quality. You can tell it's handmade in USA. The 'Made in China' versions are junk in comparison. This flower is also about 10% larger and looks much nicer on a suit lapel.

My experience with Sara Monica products is awesome. Sara's boutonnieres are well made and they are beautiful. The nature of my work demands that i dress very formal at least twice in a month. The boutonnieres i buy from Sara makes my outfits perfect. Customer service is impeccable and products are delivered on time. I highly recommend Sara's products.
