Rods are the ideal length for moderate snow areas like North New Jersey.The caps are sufficient to protect the rod during placement and the rods are pointed. There's too much flex in the rod to manage the rocky conditions in my yard, but nothing a 12" mortar drill bit can't handle.I'm underwhelmed by the reflective claims. It's essentially white tape wrapped around the yellow rod - there's better reflective properties on my dogs harness.

A little flimsy but work ok.
