Seems to be dead-on accurate and worth the money
I just got this scale. I gave it a few tests, but will update this review after a few more weeks of usage. So far, this thang is 100 % accurate. I tested it with some dumbells, cans of food, and other items that had confirmed, exact weights. The scale is very accurate, and provides the SAME result each time. I mixed things up a bit, changing dumbells and cans around in different configurations, to ensure that the scale wasn't "remembering" a previous reading. It gives the same reading for the same collection of objects even when given differently-weighted stuff to weigh in between readings. That is all you can ask for from a scale - accuracy. It is accurate.Note: some of the reviews below talk about the scale measuring to the 10th of a pound. That isn't correct - it measures to the 0.2 of a pound. Of course, anyone (like myself) buying an expensive scale probably has bigger fish to fry on the dieting front than worrying about .1 vs .2 pound resolution. This scale feels solid and well-made -- I mean really solid and durable. Sure, it's expensive, no denying that. Just remember that if you're trying to lose weight, two things you absolutely must have are an accurate body scale and an accurate food/kitchen scale. No long term project can succeed without measurement and monitoring of the results. It's worth the money to be able to measure and monitor weight-loss very accurately and to have confidence in the measurements. My previous scale would give me 3 different results if I got on the scale three times in succession, and none of the results mapped to my doctor's scale. This one gives the same result each time - we'll have to see about how it maps to the doctor scale, but from my tests, my sense is that if it doesn't map to the doctor scale, it's the doctor who needs a new scale. This baby is dead-on.UPDATE 12/6: OK, my wife and I have now been using and testing this scale for six days. This thing is, simply, amazingly accurate. Successive readings are ALWAYS exactly the same. You can take 10 readings in a row and they will all be the same - not "close", but the "same". You can alternate people on successive readings to try to throw it off, but that doesn't work. It still gives the exact correct weight for each person. If you put on a sweater that weighs 1.2 pounds, it will read exactly 1.2 pounds heavier when you get back on the scale. When you take the sweater off, it'll deduct exactly 1.2 pounds on the next reading. There is no way to shake this scale off its game - it's very precise. This is the best scale I've ever owned, the first one I've had confidence in, and the first time I could honestly say I was "happy" about a bathroom scale. Throw out whatever you have (unless it's a high-end doctor scale, like with the little sliding weights) and buy this one. This definitely goes in the "you get what you pay for" category.

Works as expected
The weight it displayed was the same as my old scale. The nice thing about this scale is you can have different profiles, and it actually weighs you each time you get on, asking with showing what the previous weight was. My problem with my old scale, and many of the cheaper scales, is that it saved my previous weight and only updated the weight of it was more than 0.5lbs different.

Exactly What I Hoped It Would Be
I spent a lot of time deciding which scale to order. I'm a runner and have been trying to steadily lose weight to get my personal record in a 5k and 10k. In order to do that, I'm trying to gradually get down to a running weight that will help me shave off seconds on my PR. In any event, this Tanita scale won me over because I read multiple reviews on reputable sites about how accurate but also, perhaps more importantly, how precise this scale is.Here's what I like about this scale:PROS:1) Super accurate and precise2) Very good looking white color and design (this mattered more for my wife than for me)3) Made by a manufacturer with a strong reputationHere's what I don't love, but can live with:CON1) All weight measurements are recorded (there is no option to weigh yourself and not record it- this would be useful for people who don't want the next person to step on the scale know what their weight is)I've used this scale for the past 2 weeks and I can tell that it is spot on. My old scale was just terrible; it was all over the place. Not having a precise scale can really sap your motivation, especially when you are working out hard and being vigilant with your diet. This scale is always right on. For example, if I drink a bunch of water or use the restroom, the scale adjusts accordingly and it changes in increments of .2 lbs.I almost ordered the EatSmart Digital Precision scale because it was cheaper and had tons of positive reviews. What ultimately swayed me to order this scale was reputation of the maker (Tanita). Because Tanita makes commercial scales in doctors' offices, I figured that the precision and accuracy of this scale was worth the extra $. I almost splurged and got the Health-o-meter 349KLX 2-piece scale, but figured that our little guy would probably tamper with the attached piece and break it. This scale was right in the middle of those two scales pricewise and I am very, very happy with the purchase.

Most accurate scale ever!
As someone on a weight loss journey, it’s really important to me that my scale tells me the truth - and this is the only one that consistently tells me the correct number, no huge fluctuations in a few minutes, and so for that reason alone I highly recommend. This is the only scale I trust to weigh daily. The other benefits: seeing your last weight when you step on, the multi-profile abilities, the number stays on for awhile so I can enter it into my tracker, and I’ve found it even stays accurate when you move the scale between rooms. The only thing I wish it had was a backlight - I weigh first thing in the morning like most folks and I have to use a flashlight to see it because I don’t want to turn the room light on.One thing not good/not bad but to know is that it is larger than any other scale I’ve used. There’s also sort of a sinking feeling when stepping on it that I had to get used to.But overall love love love - I dont use any other scale and I couldnt be on this weight loss journey without it!

Accurate and Consistent
This digital scale replaced a 40 year old digital scale that gave a different reading at every try. It seems accurate compared to the commercial scale at the athletic club, has large digital numbers for easy reading and also shows yesterday's results . It uses 4 AA batteries rather than the 6 of my old scale. The design is a bit flamboyant with its swirl top, but just a bit. As one reviewer mentioned, back lighting would have been nice these dark winter morning.
