Bloem Promo Bird Bath with Pedestal, 25" x 17", White (270-10)

I bought the same birdbath at Walmart maybe 10 years ago. It was relatively inexpensive and lasted these past 10 years or so. What finally ended its life was having been blown over by a particularly strong wind causing the bowl to crack, probably from the aged plastic. It is easy to care for and clean. The one drawback is that the base is not perfectly flat on the bottom which makes it prone to wobble or tilt rather easily. For the price, this is a good product. Other bird baths tend to be way overpriced in my estimation or are too small to my liking.

Price was not a factor in purchasing this birdbath. We were looking for one that fit our particular needs and this was the only one that fit the bill. It's a great birdbath if you are looking for one that is easy to move, pure white in a simple, classic design, and that small birds love! This is our second purchase of this make. (The first bath was damaged by hubby, not because of poor quality.) Ours arrived in excellent condition, well-packed. One screw was missing though, but easy to replace that. Because it is lightweight, we fill the base with sand for stability and place it on a round garden paver covered with a faux greenery mat. The finish is smooth, so I sand the edges and interior to give the little birds a better grip, and place small white stones in the bottom. The birds love it and visit frequently. Being lightweight it is easy to tip over and clean out quickly. While there are many more expensive and attractive baths out there, it is difficult to find one that is actually suitable for birds. It seems most are designed to look great in the garden and appeal to the human purchaser, but are not that practical for our feathered friends. We have found that the plastic does not get too hot in the summer sun, so birds are comfortable sitting on the edge. The height is good too - not too short, not too tall. Highly recommend this birdbath!!

I have bought many of these plastic bird baths over the years & love them. They are the perfect diameter & depth. Birds love them. They are a bit unstable though so I use a steel cylinder to set the water bowl part on it for extra stability. Otherwise, the stand must be filled with sand or rocks. I even added 60 watt lite bulbs below for a heated bird bath in the winter months in Michigan. Many other bird baths are too hot (steel ones) or too deep (concrete ones).
