Excellent book
I intend to ride a couple of these routes next spring. It looks like everything I need to know to decide which routes I want. I like the notes that detail if the ride will be near traffic, and for how long.

Thank You for the Awesome Guide!
Overall, I very highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to do some excellent road biking in Oregon. In my case, I bought this book because I wanted to do six days of solo riding in Oregon this past September. I looked into organized tour groups but I was really preferring to do something solo. I bought this book on Amazon and off I went after just a little planning. I did seven rides in six days and used the guide to ride loop rides and out and back rides in six different towns across the state (I just left my car at the starting point in each case). I can't tell you how pleased I was to find this gem as it saved me many hours of finding other routes on the internet and piecing them together. Every ride was as advertised, the routes were generally easy to find and to follow, and the descriptions were very good. After purchase you can even download the maps for each ride (in print) to take on your rides. As noted above, this is an excellent book but I do have two recommendations for the author to incorporate into his next book or a future edition of this one: (1) It would be fabulous to be able to download the maps directly to a garmin after purchase, and (2) It would be helpful for someone like me to get from the book a bit more color (maybe a grading system) on how treacherous some of the ascents/descents are, and particularly if they are on narrow roads without guard rails (where they are needed), and similarly, it would be great to have a clearer understanding of how much traffic I would likely find on some of the busier road rides. I passed on doing a couple rides because I couldn't tell when reading the book whether I would enjoy the rides for these reasons, even though my instincts told me I probably would have been fine and enjoyed them. This wasn't really a problem though since there were so many other rides to choose from. I do look forward to coming back to Oregon in the next couple of years and continuing to do more of the rides in this book. Thanks again for such an excellent guide!

Outstanding guide to Oregon road bicycling
I grew up living and road biking in Oregon. Although I now live in Texas, my wife and I sometimes find time to get to Oregon for tandem road biking. I had been looking for a good road bike guide for a while to help plan a 2-week tandem trip; road bike guides are hard to find as most focus on mountain bike or combined on/off road. This series and the Oregon edition in particular are outstanding. Great descriptions, great maps and best of all fantastic rides. This only covers a small part of the excellent road riding available in Oregon. But selections and details sre outstanding. Focuses mostly on challenging 1 day rides, but they are easy to string together into multi day itineraries. Highly recommended.

the perfect ride guide
I am a compulsive collector of ride guides. Most of them are terrible. This one is perfect. Great rides, well-described, in a pleasant, literate style that's a pleasure to read. Moore is one of the few guide writers who gets the idea that cyclists care about scenery as well as miles and elevation gain. He isn't into hard for hard's sake, and he works hard to keep you off the busy boring major roads. He's determined to give you rides in all parts of the state, which I wish he didn't do, since it means he has to skip great rides in the southwest of the state to make room for rides in the southeast, but I respect his logic.

Classic, accurate, and well-written
Wonderful rides. The writing is so enjoyable, clear and accurate. My wife and I did one of these for our anniversary and the descriptions were accurate, both for the ride and the landscape. We never would have known about that area otherwise and it was such a great discovery. Can't wait to do more of these. This book is a gift to bike riders.

This book is great. I like the tables in the front which allow you to quickly identify the length/difficulty/scenery of the ride in each region. It helped me plan a 2 week cycling trip. now, all I have to do is go out and pedal. Seriously Awesome Book
