IMF-100 Black Identi-Marker, Fine Tip (Pack of 10)

I work in a lab and I write on slides that get stained and sprayed for a second or two with ethyl alcohol and this ink comes off entirely, like any other marker.Oh well.

I wish could give this item zero stars...These are listed under permanent markers, and are cleverly designed to look exactly like VWR markers (which are laboratory-grade, alcohol-resistant markers), but these are NOT even close to that.I wrote something on a blank DVD, waited 10 minutes for it to dry completely, and still was able to wipe it off completely -- with just a little bit of spit (I didn't even need to try the alcohol)!And like a good science experiment, I tried the same spit test with my actual lab-grade markers (one by Sigma Aldrich, and one by VWR), and those didn't lose any writing at all.These are useless, DO NOT BUY THEM!Amazon doesn't let you return them, because technically they contain flammable materials.

I bought so-called "alcohol-resistant markers" from several other vendors but they were very disappointing. Then I found this marker and just wanted to give it a try. These markers just lose a tiny bit of color with alcohol wash and then the marking is very stable and clear, even after several alcohol wiping. Very happy to find these markers for lab use.

I haven't tried these out extensively but I wrote on the plastic packaging with one and sprayed it with isopropyl alcohol after maybe 5 seconds with no running or bleeding of the ink. They are all black, not multicolored as the picture suggests.

These markers are NOT alcohol resistant in any sense. The description is a LIE, DO NOT BUY IF USING ALCOHOL AROUND IT.
