Amazing piece of technology
Drones are so incredible and this is one of the very best out there, especially for those fairy new to the hobby or doing semi-professional work.First of all, this thing folds up so small and compact that it’ll fit into a very small bag. Even when packing all your spare batteries and propellers you can fit this easily into a small backpack. Because of how the Air folds up, it feels very safe and protected. I have had this a few years now and I’ve never had any issues with it. If you're just off somewhere to fly it that's near by, you'll even be able to put the Air in one pocket and the controller in another. It's that small!Operation is simple. You attach the controller to your smart phone and operate it using the controller's sticks with the drone’s view streaming to the screen of your phone. The screen offers you a touch screen do confirm your various pre-launch checks and set locations to return, etc.Whether you are an experienced drone user or fairly new to it, you should feel quite safe after a few times playing with the Mavic Air. It has a return to home button and also will alert you as battery runs down and it needs to return. Operation of a drone takes time to learn and these days you need to make sure you do the various legal work before you fly it, but there are a number of assistance features that will help you fly it such as it sensing a objects around it (like a wall) and avoiding it.Beyond the standard flying of the drone, there are also lots of cool features such as gesture controls that let you use hand signals to tell it what to do, various following modes and even modes where it’ll zoom away from you and back in - asteroid where it flies off and takes pictures before knitting them together to make it look like it has left orbit is a particular favourite. Honestly, the first time the Drone zooms off to take some footage using a pre-programmed mode (such as asteroid or boomerang) you’ll probably wonder if it’ll ever come back, but it always does and the resulting footage truly is amazing.Quality is excellent with 100mb per second video. You get clean and crisp footage with the options of slow motion and even 4K if you need it. One thing to be aware of is that you will need a high quality memory card to record your footage onto at these speeds, but there are plenty of compatibility charts on the web if you Google them.Overall, I love the Mavic Air. The operation is simple, quality is amazing and the pre-programmed flight paths give you some amazing effects.

Mavic Air - Perfect for Pro's or begginers!
The DJI Mavic Air is the near-perfect love child of the very successful Mavic Pro and the compact and user-friendly Spark. It's a consumer drone that highlights DJI’s commitment to innovation.By taking the tech and foldable rotor arms from the DJI Mavic Pro and the small form factor and playfulness of the Spark – and then improving on both – DJI has produced its best drone yet for consumers. The Mavic Air hovers over that perfect middle ground, offering high-end specs at a lower price point than the Mavic Pro. It has just about every bell and whistle (though this drone certainly does hum) you could ask for, from 4K video and 32MP panoramic pictures to a 21-minute battery life.More importantly, the DJI Mavic Air is easy to fly thanks to an improved object avoidance system and gesture controls, giving this drone more mainstream appeal. The DJI Mavic Air gets a big thumbs-up from us. It’s the best drone for most people thanks to the fact that it fits top specs inside a pocketable drone form factor. We were able to slip it straight into our backpack without having it weighing us down.Getting 4K video at 30fps, better battery life, improved smarts and better obstacle avoidance for $799 (£769, AU$1,299) makes this drone a great value.Although the camera could have been better (DJI sadly hasn’t used the Pro’s 28mm f/2.2 lens on the Air), the footage it captures is still excellent. While the Air manages a top resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K UHD) at 30fps, the Pro is capable of Cinematic 4K (4,096 x 2,160) at 30fps. So, if you’re interested in professional video capture, you’re still better off going with the more expensive Mavic Pro – it also flies further and the Pro Platinum version is much quieter.AdvertisementFor drone newbies, the Spark may seem like a great starting point, if you’re okay with 1080p images. But we’d argue the Mavic Air isn’t a bad starting point either – and it’s not that much more expensive. First timers flying the drone via the app might find it a tad hard to simultaneously pilot the drone and operate the gimbal smoothly, but it doesn’t take long to get used to moving it around. And, by using the more automated QuickShots and tracking features, anyone is capable of pulling off an amazing shot – no experience necessary.

Very good
Great product. Easy to use and produces great quality photos and video. Battery life is short and it struggles in windy conditions. In high winds (I am only taking Midlands, UK) it doesnt work at all as feels like it is going to get blown very far away.
