It's o.k.!
I received this item as a promotion, but I had been interested in it for awhile. I am a happy vegan (for animals), gluten tolerant, but I try to eat well and thought this might be another option for healthy meals. I was pleasantly surprised by it.I used it with zucchini. Now, I don't love zucchini, and I've never much known what to do with it, but zucchini is the vegetable people seem to recommend using with this item. This is how I used my spiralizer:zucchinitomato sauce/jalapeno sauceDaiya coconut cheeseEarth Balance butterflax oilTofurky Italian sausageI made the zucchini spaghetti, which was pretty easy, kind of fun really to watch it come out spiraled, and helped by the lid at the end. I lightly cooked with a little Earth Balance, Daiya, and sauce. Then I put flax oil and cooked, sliced sausage on top.It was a healthy meal, and surprisingly good - as long as your expectation is that you're eating a healthy meal and not a traditional pasta dish. I wouldn't expect a child to think they were getting a real treat with this meal, I mean, it is zucchini. However - yay - I finally found a way to use zucchini that's pretty easy and tolerable.I will use this again, and I'm happy that I have it. I recommend it if you like fooling around in the kitchen and prioritize healthy meals. I think it will be good making cold "pasta" dishes too. I gave it four stars and not five because while it's fun and can create healthier meals, it's not absolutely amazing or necessary. It doesn't revolutionize your kitchen, because what it does is fairly limited and as I said, you have to have some tolerance and drive for healthy meals as opposed to meals where the highest priority is taste. But if you have some extra money to throw at it, and think you might enjoy it - go ahead.Edit: I used it again, in a cold salad with lettuce, quinoa, nuts, beans, some other vegetables. It really bulked up the salad (in a good way). Zucchini doesn't add a lot of flavor, so if you have a dressing you enjoy, it's great. I do indeed like this spiralizer.

As a convert to low carb, one of my biggest issues was what to use in place of pasta (especially spaghetti and noodles). This machine has made all the difference. Convert your zucchini to spaghetti, slightly cook with olive oil, and simply cover with your meaty sauce and you have a great meal. The spaghetti can actually be wound upon your fork and eaten like real noodles / spaghetti. And the flavor, especially if you take the minute to cook it in olive oil and salt and pepper is extraordinary. Well worth it. While I still love spaghetti squash, this makes zucchini and English cucumbers into something great with an actual al dente texture, that (unlike spaghetti squash after an hour in the oven to make even ready to begin to pull the strands) are most definitely not mush (unless you cook it too long, it just takes a minute after creating the spaghetti). A great tool.

Extremely Disappointed
I am highly disappointed that I had tried several times to take advantage of the promotion to get this Vegollete and each time it would not take the coupon code even after they resent it to me. The last time I tried they said the promotion had expired. This was a farse and I am not happy at all. The only way to rectify this situation is to let me have one at that promotional price of 99 cents.Paula Vitkus

Did Not Work For Us
We received a kit consisting of the Zucchini Pasta Maker, a three surface peeler and a single surface peeler. The latter is the type of vegetable peeler which looks like a disposable razor. The three surface peeler is a wheel having three different peeling / stripping blades which rotate within a fixed guard leaving only one cutter exposed at a time.We nicked ourselves a few times on the three surface cutter until we stumbled upon the idea that you can lift a central button and rotate the blades that way. There were no instructions which come with these devices except a short card with the Pasta Maker. A link to a Web site had tech difficulties when we tried to log on.The Zucchini Pasta Maker did not work as advertised with harder vegetables such as carrots. One side yielded pellet like carrot (or other hard vegetable) droppings. The other did some stringing but hardly enough to consider vegetable pasta. Both the Pasta Maker and the three surface peeler leave exposed sharp edges when stored. We strongly discourage storing where children or clumsy adults may rummage around as severe cuts are possible.Overall a disappointment.
