Are you going to Scarborough fair
At the age of 60 years old I Plan to busk for the first time in my life so needed some tunes to expand my British Folk repertoire. This was perfect. As I'm not that good at sight reading music I search the titles on YouTube and discoverd a lot of the tunes in this volume are very familiar. I'm intermediate on my instrument. This volume offers a good selection from the simple to more challanging pieces. love it. Seems like only yesterday I was buying NWA CDs.

Full of folk tunes
Lovely book. Full of folk tunes. Some I knew. Some I don't know. And lots that sound familiar. I am re-visiting recorder playing from my school days around 40 years ago. So these are a lovely way to start. Very pleased with this. They are simply presented, and have guitar chord accompaniments. As my daughter is a learner guitar player I think this will give us a goal to play together and help us both. Can't wait..........

Good range of tunes for intermediate players
Some great traditional tunes here with notes at the back giving background information about them. There's also a CD so that you can check you're reading & playing them correctly. I would love to have had a CD with a backing track on!

Contents for those that are interested...
I was thinking of getting the book but didn't see the contents listed and had to go to another web site.I already have versions of most of the songs I recognise, which isn't that many as not a folk enthusiast. It's useful that there's an accompanying CD although a web link to be able to see the music being played with accompanying notation also shown would be good too.Anyway the contents list is pasted below in case of use:ArgeersParson's FarewellRufty TuftyThe New FagaryNewcastleGathering PeascodsThe Jovial BeggarsWoodicockJenny Pluck PearsDull Sir JohnBotany BayDick's MaggotJack's MaggotPortsmouthOld Noll's JigMy Lady Foster's DelightThe Country FarmerBury FairLiberty for the SailorsKemp's JigShepherd's HeyLads a BunchumThe Blue-eyed-StrangerAdmiral Calder's HornpipeThe Sailor's HornpipeThe Careless Lass -A1 HornpipeBristol HornpipeBamford's HornpipeGreensleevesDaphneScarborough FairSpring SongAll In A Garden GreenThe Spotted CowEarly One MorningThe Glory of the WestSong of the Western ManThe CuckooHere We Come A-wassailingThe MermaidAs Down in the Meadows I Chanced to PassCupid's GardenWhen The King Enjoys His Own AgainJockey to the FairThe Bailiff's Daughter of IslingtonThe Oak And The AshRosalindaThe Rose-buds in JuneThe Perils of the IsleThe WoodcutterThe Miller Of The DeeWeel May The Keel RowThe Bonny MilkmaidBlack SlovenThe Dusky Night Rides Down the SkyDown Among The Dead MenEvery Man take his Glass in his handCome, Here's to Robin HoodCollin's ComplaintWith Tuneful Pipe and Merry GleeGolden Slumbers Kiss your Eyes

OK
Good for "beginners " .You do however need to know how to play . Rather too many pieces with the difficult high notesGood variety of pieces.
