DOLOPL 30 Packs Pool Skimmer Socks

Pool socks are such a simple idea, but they've made my life so much easier! I lined my filter basket with one and placed another over my water return. They very effectively filter that frustrating dead algae that used to continually run through the filter and deposit back into the pool. I also use one in place of the debris net on my pool vacuum to catch the smallest particles. They're also very easy to clean and reuse. Most times I can just turn them inside out and clean with the hose. Dirtier ones can be thrown into the wash, just like a pair of socks. Simple idea, but a very effective product!

So the socks are big enough to go over my pool skimmer which sucked because the catching holes were too big and was not catching the small little bugs or fibers. I placed one of the socks around it and I love it! I’m catching EVERYTHINGGGG :)The main purpose of my purchase was the water intake vent for the pool. I am having to change the filter every 7 days exactly. At 7 days my filter is clogged and the pump stops spitting out water. So I’ll update on how long the filter last now that I placed the skimmer sick over the intake. The sock is big but I was able to put it over and run the excess towards the wall of the pool. I’ve had it on for about 6 hours and it’s not going anywhere and the excess isn’t moving out of place from where I placed it :) and it’s already caught a lot of debris and tiny bugs and I love how I can see it’s doing it’s job. It’s super satisfying to see all the stuff caught on there.I’ll update once I remove the sock to see how often changing it is gonna be needed. You can definitely wash them and reuse them but for the price I’m just going to be replacing them and buying more once I run out.**Instant Update 8hrs later**The sock has picked up so much gunk that would have otherwise gone into the filter. I wonder it gets clogged so fast :|**Update Dec 2021**I have been using the socks until now that we emptied the pool due to winter. I still left one on to prevent any little bugs from going into the tubes.As for the routine during pool season, I ended up changing the sock once per day. I recommend changing it at the earliest hour your kids go into the pool. That way on the days they do go in they have a fresh looking clean sock filter as they swim. For me it’s at 4pm during school days and at 12pm during vacations. It definitely makes the pool feel clean as they’re using it. It’s a peace of mind thing and they don’t say “Ewwww” when they go in lol

Update 07/2019: Finally needed more since I replace both, once a week, in less than 5 minutes. Everything from my original note still holds true.Original Review: These socks are as good or better than the ones I can buy at my local pool supply store , where 5 socks cost $12. I used to hose off the old socks due to their cost, but I just may toss these after a single use. Depending on the season, they catch a lot of pollen, dirt, insects, etc. that would otherwise make it to the filter. Before using these socks, I'd have to backwash the filter once a month, now I make it the entire NJ season without back washing or replenishing the DE.For those who have complained about the pulls / runs, these are like the old women's nylons or pantyhose, it's the nature of the material that they will snag and get tears but they are still effective (my biggest problem are Japanese Beetles). Also, I've seen some comments / complaints about the installation. The socks get installed on the inside of your basket, as shown. Just spread the basket a bit and remove the handle, install the sock & reinstall the handle. The handle is removed in the photos to show the product and NEVER install the sock on the outdside of the basket, it's just going to get sucked off and pulled through your lines and could plug them or mess up your pump, if they get that far.

Not very durable but a good cheap skimmer bag

I really don't have much debris falling into my pool, so these seem to last longer than I thought. I am able to re-use these after cleaning, I get about 1-1/2 to 2 weeks out of each sock. Do not use these if you add chlorine to your pool via the skimmer, they will deteriorate very quickly when exposed to chlorine tablets. They do pick up quite a bit of fine dirt as well as larger contaminants

We are new pool owners and as such there is a lot we don't know. We were told about using panty hose on our skimmer basket to help us catch some of the smaller debris that wasn't being collected by the pool net. We had been doing that and it worked, sort of but as we were running out of panty hose, we realized we were going to need another way to go. So, when we searched the internet and found this suggestion, we checked our local pool supply store and Home Depot but the cost of both of those places verses the amount of socks you get for the price, didn't even compare to what we found with this company. We just recieved them and so far, they are seriously out performing the panty hose! They appear to fit very snug and we are happy campers with much less crap floating around in the pool! If we have problems going forward, we will be happy to give an update and let everyone that reads reviews know! But so far they are awesome!

I don’t know what I would do without these skimmer socks! I have a sand filter for my pool and I am trying to extend its life. These easy to use filter socks catch all of the little things that would normally get caught in the sand. Now when I backwash my filter I am so pleased with how quickly the water is clear and my pool looks great. One word of warning - please make sure you are checking your baskets more often because the fine particles will build up and cause a water flow issue.
