16 inch Sperry Leather Vintage Style Messenger Bag Portfolio Briefcase Laptop Case for Men brifcase

I had previously reviewed this product and gave it three stars, only because it came without the shoulder strap shown in the product description, and was therefore in my mind incomplete. I contacted Amazon and they could not resolve the problem, but gave me a small "Goodwill Refund" of 10%. However they did give me the contact info for Sperry Leather, who promptly contacted me the next day! They are in the process of getting me the strap and sending via FedEx without cost to resolve the issue. I love this bag, and did not want to return it, so I am very pleased that Sperry stepped up to correct the problem. [I believe Amazon should have done this as part of their "A-Z Guarantee" but they did not.]This bag is much nicer than others shown on Amazon. Unlike many of the other bags reviewed on Amazon, there is no objectionable smell to this bag except that of freshly tanned leather which smells great. It shipped inside a plastic bag which would normally concentrate odors, but there are none! The leather (pure leather, not bonded leather like some bags) is quite heavy and I believe will soften with use and last a long time. Stitching is very even and matches the bag nicely. There are two zippered pockets on the outside of the bag, one 8-1/2" tall by 12-1/2" long in back (which is large enough to hold my Samsung 10" tablet inside its case!) and one 5" tall by 10-1/4" wide in the front flap. Front flap covers two large outside pocket type compartments - each of which is 6" wide, 7" tall, and 1-1/2" deep - that are open at the top but covered by the flap that is secured by two magnetic closures. These compartments are perfect for carrying cords, chargers, etc. or other items you want to access without opening the main bag. The main bag has two separate compartments, each with a zipper, so each can be opened separately without exposing the contents of the other.. The front compartment has two pockets, one which is large enough to hold my cell phone in its case and the other for pens, pencils, or misc. This front main compartment has an un-padded divider for pads, binders, or papers, and a large open compartment for bigger items such as a laptop, etc. The pockets and divider in this section are nicely trimmed out in stitched leather to cover the raw edges. The rear main compartment has a padded section for a laptop or notebook, with a Velcro strap to keep it in place while traveling, and a large open compartment. The padded section also has an 8" long zippered compartment on one side. All of the zippers have nice stitched leather pulls on them, giving the bag a classy look. Finally, the bag is expandable, with adjustment straps on each end to hold things tightly or to enable you to expand the bag to carry more volume. The removable and adjustable shoulder strap clips to brass loops stitched to each end of the bag.All in all this is the best designed bag for my purposes of all of those reviewed, especially for the price. There are others out there for a few dollars less, but I am glad I paid a bit extra for the quality of this bag. Pictures included by other reviewers are very accurate - my bag looks exactly as shown in those pics as well as the pics shown with the Sperry product description on Amazon.Since writing this review, Sperry has shipped the missing strap. It matches the bag perfectly and is very sturdy.I would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for great looks and durability at an affordable price.

Shoulder strap broke first day I had it so I had to rig it up with a carabiner. One zipper ripped off. Not well made. Looks ok for the price, but I do not recommend the product.

The product has good compartments but it has some issues. The leather where the strap connects to ring is deteriorating fast after only being used for a few months.

Real Leather, nothing smells or lasts like it. I do IT work for a living. Holds laptop, paperwork, and few other items. Great look and seems like it should cost twice as much. If it last like it looks will be a huge bargain.
