A wake up call for those in the equine community.
This book is for people who like horses, who treat them as partners & equals, not those whose bully and break them for their own self gratification. A book that gets the reader to think about what they are actually doing when imposing their will on animals without considering the confusion and sometimes pain they inflict on these initially patient and willing creatures.Well done to Ms Senior for reminding us all that sometimes our objectives, when it come to riding, need to be better thought out to include the horse's opinion of the rider's capability to understand how sensitive these animals are, to everything we do and how we do it.

Well worth a read, it will change the way you treat your horse for the better!
Great job and about time someone wrote an up to date book that revolved around how the horse actually feels.. young, old, beginners or so called "professional trainers" can all learn and take with them something that will enhance the relationship between themselves and the noble horse! Ditch those gadgets and old fashioned archaic training methods, along with your outdated trainers, especially those who teach "text book riding", and learn how to be "in the moment and mindful" of how you treat and be with your horses, the benefits and rewards will far outweigh the cost of the book, and it will change the whole relationship with your horses for the better.

A fully comprehensive, educational and fab book
Avis really gets to the heart of the matter. Educational and full of practical advice. She offers you the chance to view your horse in a more holistic way without loosing the essence of equestrianism. She raises questions that many of us need to be asking ourselves, but does no in a way that is professional, thought provoking and grounded. I have no doubt that this book will help to serve both horses and people a like due to the valuable information it holds and offers the reader.

Give this a miss. Very inexperienced author
Really disappointing. Very author manipulated and not reader aware. Give this one a miss unless you want to be lectured to by what seems like a drab point to the whole book.
