Excellent - loved it
A fabulous book where not very much happens but instead you are treated to superbly observed vignettes about real people. Made me want to visit Sweden immediately!

Cathartic and introspective
The author takes us on a journey about what it is to be human- the fundamental nature of relationships and introspection that ultimately stretch out to form our lives. Through the novel the portagonist is in the midst of a fever and reflects on four key persons that had an impact on her life. Through her thoughts the streets of Stockholm emerge as well as mental illness and human emotions. The writing is surprisingly engaging. This is not a novel with a thick plot and at times I have missed that but otherwise it was a great read that encouraged self reflection and emotion.

Finest of writers, read it twice.
Such fine writing, such depth of human experience, such entertainment that I read it a second time immediately I finished the last page, not wanting to miss a thing. This book should never have been translated into American-English. It's a Northern European story by a Northern European author. It jolts the European reader, since American words, grammar and different meanings make for loss of understanding. It wouldn't matter if the book were shallow.

Short but powerful
I’d never heard of La Genberg, she was recommended to me. What a beautiful book. As the title suggests, it’s all in the details. Loved it.

Unmemorable
Literally. I can't recall a single thing about it - that's how much of an impression it left on me. If you like books where nothing happens, this one should be top of your list.
