Champion of the Chalet School
Whilst this was an interesting and well written story, this could be any achool, anywhere. I missed EBD's desriptions, the beginning of the book didn't even mention where it was about! The girls always had tea and biscuits, a change from kaffee und kutchen. Teachers were mentioned but didn't have any character, everything seemed to be glosssed over. Injections for Anne's asthma? Were there no inhalers in those days? I honestly try to like fill in books, but the memory of EBD's CS stays in my mind, especially the Tirol era. Nobody understands her characters better than she did. Sorry, to repeat myself, this would make a good general school story, but not about my beloved CS.

Wonderful. What a treat!
This was my first encounter with the Chalet School adventures and I was hooked from the start. It was fun to read, most enjoyable and entertaining. Informative too! I gained a lot of insight into the perceptions and treatments of asthma at that time. Great stuff! Having no previous knowledge of the school's history and characters wasn't a disadvantage at all. The story is strong enough to stand alone. Would definitely buy more written by this author.

Highly recommended - and hoping the author has more fillers-in in ...
This is a splendid addition to the fillers-in. The prose is lively, the dialogue believable, and the plot believable - more so than some of the original Chalet School books. Highly recommended - and hoping the author has more fillers-in in the pipeline.

Very enjoyable, the author has captured EBD's style and tone perfectly
I have enjoyed all the "add on" or "fill in" titles in this series but this is one of the ones that stands out. Good story line and characters, I look forward to Adrianne writing more in this series.
