This really is very good. I used to wear a plastic AFO that goes inside the shoe. I prefer this because it's more comfortable and more discrete. It also gives a little ankle movement, so I can exercise my calf muscles, and get a slightly more natural walk. I have found 2 holes to directly attach the 2 S-hooks to my shoe. I think that works best for me. Not bought the separate shoeless attachment yet, but I plan too. Seeing as it is made from a small quantity of fabric, velcro and bungee, I think it's a bit expensive and will probably need replacing after a while. Very nicely designed and put together though.

It helps me walk properly. Though expensive but it's worth every penny. Will definitely buy again

This is the best product by far that I have tried
This is by far the best drop foot AFO I have tried. By far. It is better in terms of build quality, and it is much more effective because it allows you to pull it as tight as you need in order to pull up properly. My physio was suggesting I needed a full boot orthotic when I was wearing the Ossur, but changed her mind when she saw me walking wearing this Boxia product.I have tried the Dropstop which is 100% useless; I am thinking of using it as a cup holder in my car because it does nothing to pull up my toe.I have tried the Ossur product which (a) is of inferior design so it starts to collapse on itself after about a week which effectively renders it useless because it reduces the tension in the elastic; (b) has a fixed length elastic so cannot be pulled to your size; and (c) falls apart so it really only lasts less than a month before it needs to be replaced (expensive business 12 AFOs a year!). The Boxia product is now 2+ months old as is still like new. Also, to their discredit Ossur censor postings in the review section on their web site which means that all the reviews you read are positive. For what it's worth I have found that the Boxia product works best when worn with boots, which keeps it high up on the ankle, and when the boots have laces that extend a long way towards the toe of the shoe because you get better leverage.Aside from the positive comments on the product, £47 seems jolly expensive for what is basically some neoprene and elastic. But if you have drop foot then unfortunately you need to buy some expensive product or another, and without doubt this is the one to go for in my experience.

Disappointed
I have ms and love my boxia, my 1st one is 3 years old so thought it was time to invest in a new one, this is what happened after only a handful of wears, I wish you could just get a replacement of certain parts, I’m having to use the old one of these, a bit disappointing at nearly £60!

Help me walk better
After having a health scare earlier this year I developed drop foot! I was first provided two of these by the NHS but they did not match, I now have a matching pair of black ones which help me walk comfortably and it is helping my physio as there is still flexibility in the foot!

absolutely the best
I have footdrop on my right side and have tried four different products. The Boxia is the best I have ever tried. I use the hooks to secure the band: in the 3rd eyelets in my shoe (counting from my ankle). I am not entirely comfortable with the little insert that is provided which goes under the laces. Personal preference - my method feels more secure. I first tried the hooks in the 4th eyelet but that was too tight. 3rd eyelet is perfect. Now when I lift my leg, the foot stays level ad does not drop. Brilliant. Just be aware to go slowly at first - it will take a little time to get used to the Boxia. This product is re commended by specialist orthotics departments in the NHS. I found it also helps with inversion, where my foot/ankle tilts in wards.

If you're reading this you probably don't need to pay too much attention to the opinion of another and are instead looking for a solution to the constant rubbing through of your shoes, the poor swing phase in your gait, the mental tiring, the constant fighting. You may have tried numerous other devices in the past and are getting increasingly despondent. Buying one of these is not a preference thing, it is functional.I actually use an A.F.O. for getting out-and-about but when I need more flexibility (going to the gym etc) I use one of these. The Orliman Boxia is a well-made, high-quality medical device that has lasted rather well. I have used the device two or three times a week for in excess of 2 years and it's still doing its job.Whoever pointed you in the direction of this product knows what they're talking about.
