Very handy on small cameras (like a LX7 or LX100) when using a tripod.
I take lots of family photographs and I find often I;m behind the camera and not in front of it. So being able to mount my camera on my tripod (Arca Ball Head) I find this little body plate to be very handy for my small cameras - especially when I want to be included in the family pictures....lol
