Drumset For Preschoolers
Andy Ziker has put together an awesome beginning booklet for very young, and even the young at heart. My two, very soon to be three, year old will receive his drum set for his birthday this month. After seeing his enthusiasm for drums, and going through this book, the beginning steps should be very easily applied once the beat is learned with his new set. Thanks for a great product that has simplified this process and given us parents, and even instructors I would imagine, something to allow our toddlers to focus positive energy towards. Also, thank you for signing his third birthday present! He will surely appreciate it when he is older!........Update, June 2016; although slow going, the first lessons are so easy to teach and so comprehensive that my son has picked up a beat and loves playing and singing his favorite songs. Red light, green light is so awesome! Thanks again!

Quality Material in a Quality Book!
As a professional drum teacher with a current roster of 68 students per week, many of my students are very young. I've taught as young as two years old! I also have several special needs children on my roster. Andy's book is full of great things to do to keep the lessons light and fun without the little ones getting frustrated. It also serves to prepare them well for when they are ready to handle more mature material! As an added bonus, the book is beautifully written and laid out and is made of durable materials. I was so pleased when I opened the envelope to find such a high quality book! Many of the drum books I've used over the years are tattered, dog-eared and coverless due to so much use and the books themselves not being made well.If you're a parent looking to work with your child or a serious educator looking for curriculum for younger ones, look no further. Andy hit it out of the park with this one!

Excellent Concepts for The Young Students!
Those teaching young students know what a challenge it can be - at this young age, they need a special approach - and Andy's book has this.I started using Drumset for Preschoolers with my little students and I am getting great results. The concept I have applied is the popular, kid-friendly songs - they work great because the children are familiar with and enjoy the songs - and at the same time, they are learning notation such as quarter, 8th, 16th, Dotted 8th/16th notes, etc. Moreover, through his concept, they are conditioning their hands and building rhythmic vocabulary, since they are playing a combination of rhythms.Andy also explains "Copy Cat", an excellent game that the kids love, which I have been using for years!I am looking forward to applying more of the book in the future. Thanks to Andy for a great book that helps both the teacher and child!

Finally a book for preschoolers!
This is the book I have been looking for!!! I was an early childhood special education instructor for years before switching over to music instruction. I have used several other kids drum methods, but they all move too quickly. This is the first book I have found that really addresses the issues that prevent some children from being successful on the drums. Specifically, his color coded method of teaching drum notation is wonderful. He also has lesson plans written out for the instructor. My teenage son is starting to teach beginning drum lessons for young children, and this book will be perfect for him to follow. I would highly recommend starting with this book before using one of the other kids methods.

Perfect introduction for the junior drummer
Even though I have been teaching people how to play the drums for 20 years, I have struggled with finding appropriate teaching material for very young students. Drumset for Preschoolers promises to fill this gap in the market and I am pleased to say that it does so exceptionally well. There is detailed information for parents on how to choose and set up a drum set, interpret the color based notation system and play the interactive games described in the book. I have been using it with a 5 year old student for over a month - he really engages with the nursery rhymes and loves playing the 16th note fills around the kit! There is laughing, fun and the time just flies past. Both student and teacher are grateful.

Must Buy for parents or teachers who have kids that cannot concentrate during music lessons.
Received it unexpectedly fast. It is a Very nice and inspirational book for preschoolers. It is well written and my kids can follow the exercises. I use it as complementary tothe Orff method that my kids are following at kindergarten.Even though my kids (4 and 5 years old) cannot concentrate for long, the colour coding and the fun approach of the book challenges them to do the exercisesas they consider it mostly a game and less a lesson.A second book with a bit more advanced beats and theory but on the same style (colour coding etc)would have been very welcome.

NIce Book For Teaching Youngsters
This book does a nice way of color coding drums/notes and turning reading music into a variation of rock band to get the basics across. Have not found anything else like it for toddlers/pre-schoolers
